We used up well over half of the chalk to get all lines marked on our asphalt pavement. To ensure our work doesn't completely vanish after the next rain storms, we used white tree marking paint to go over all the lines. We are really satisfied with the result! :)

The rings and the length of cord did exactly what I expected it to do. Even the chalk has lasted longer than I thought it would and we have retraced our court multiple times. It is easiest and fastest with two people but can be done alone. I use a philips screwdriver to hold one ring if I am by my self in a hole I drilled in the pavement directly under the backboard and dead center. Then I move to a hole I drilled for the key circle. I also attach the chalk to a stick with Duct tape so I don't have to bend over which cuts the time even more. For the price this is definitely the easiest.

I loved that this was cheap and very simple to use and it helped us get the court looking very professional with the correct lines! You need to have an assistant. It is easier to use with 2 people.

Great value, simple to use, no need to pay $50 plus when this will work just fine. Only issue is the rope "stretches" so when making your 3 point line, it gets a little tricky. replace the line with a rope that doesn't stretch or high strength fishing line. your still saving money!after outlining in chalk, use a leaf blower to gently remove the chalk while still being able to see a faint outline. Use a 2" wide paint roller, use rustoleum white pain (1 qt is enough) and your done. Reason you want to remove the 95% of the chalk is if you don't, the pain won't quiet adhere that well to the asphalt. It will if you remove most of it. Looks awesome. Why pay $100 plus for a kit?

TIPS!! READ THIS. I used this today and it is very easy to use and the concept is great. My first go at it I thought the 3pt. Line looked much farther than 19' 9"(highschool distance). It ended up being 3' to 4' longer. The string does stretch when keeping it taught which accounts for the inaccuracy. To fix this my wife and I measured with the string taught and I taped the last(navy blue) ring @ 19' 9" on the string. Used it after that and it was much more accurate. It is still worth the money for the minor adjustment. Also taped the chalk to the end of a broom stick so I could walk while I traced the line.

This was exactly what I needed to mark our basketball court. I tried finding this at Canadian Tire and our local sports store with no luck.

The size of the court that is drawn out is all wrong. For example the free-throw line measures out 16 feet away from the backboard and it is supposed to be 15. The diameter of the key is supposed to be 6 feet and with this product measures out at 7 feet. That is without stretching the string which, if you pull tension can almost get a full 12 inches extra out of. This makes the product even more unreliable. My suggestion – look up measurements get your own string and mark out your own court.

I have to say, don't expect some large package to arrive. A design you wish you created. The device is one large string with colored sections. Per the instructions( very basic), setup is basic. I placed a screw at each location and purchased some yellow line paint. Made an outline with paint. I wanted a perminent outline. The product comes with chalk multicolored. The chalk works, but washes away. For some, that is desired. It takes two people to do well. With screws, allowed me to do alone. I would reccomend, but wished it came with a more permanent paint options. Once set up, kids just want to use it. You will find yourself out playing.

wanted a stencil for a basketball court to paint over and make permanent. this, while a simple system, worked very well. very much worth the money given the advertised alternatives. the only thing to watch out for is if you want a real regulation court, you need the out of bounds like 4 feet behind the backboard, not at the backboard as the picture/diagram indicates. so draw the diagram on your court, then draw the out of bounds line 4 feet behind the line they recommend. easy to do.i took the chalk lines as the center and put duct tape on each side of them, with a 2 inch gap in between to paint. i bought outdoor paint at home depot and a 2 inch roller and a paint brush. it worked fantastic. the tricky part are the curved lines which you need to do freehand and take time. I bought a 2 inch sponge brush which worked well. needed a few coats and lots of patience. but the outcome is fantastic. finished it in a day.
