Good map, wish it had mileage. I like how it is a sturdy map and rain proof!

We hike the Winds on extended 7 and 8 day trips. Theae maps are great. All the major trails and trailheads are shown. Very sturdy and water resistant. Fold up small to put in pack. Not as detailed as Forest Service Topo maps. Topo lines on 40 foot intervals. But overall very pleased.

Excellent map for navigation of the Wind River Range from the Big Sandy Trailhead to Texas Pass and back. Durable and waterproof.

Great map of the Southern portion of the wind river mountain trails. Durable and detailed. The only issue I had was it did not include the Sweetwater trail-head at the southern most part. We had to supliment this map with another in order to cover all areas. This map does not include the older trials either, those that are not actively maintained. Depending on your plans, this may or may not be an issue

Buy this if you want to hike the Winds. Some have said that the writing is tiny, but it's not a concern, if you ask me. I shared the map with some older relatives and they also thought it was a great map. It's also waterproof and easy to fold back up.Someone mentioned that the map doesn't have mileage indicators, and that's true. I'd recommend doing some research before hiking and it won't be a problem.

This is a great map for anyone looking for an in-depth look into the Wind River Range of Wyoming. Very detailed. Appears to be water resistant and is tear resistant.

I used this map and the companion Northern range for planning and completing a backpack trip in August (2011). They were all I needed. For the planning phase, the descriptions and guidelines provided with the map were helpful, e.g. bear preparedness. The rugged materials will mean that this map will last for years under the typical usage of a trek.

If you can read a map, then you'll be content with this. Trails are easily marked. Shows the location of the nearby lodge, and covers half the range. This is an excellent series of maps generally to buy because they are waterproof, and provide much of the information you will want- ranger districts, specific local regulations and rules, and who to contact for further information. Some trail descriptions, driving directions, and so on. However, if you are carrying it in with you, just know this will be about 5X7 folded up so its not the half ounce, edible-in-an-emergency super-deluxe backpacker's special edition some of the weight-conscious crazies are in need of. Personally, I'll carry in this good map so I can see where I am between the topo lines, and pack less heavy luxuries, but that's just me.
