After reading some of the reviews on this product, I was a little hesitant. But after 2 days, the weeds were GONE! I would DEFINITELY recommend this product.

Due to our former gardener we started getting some angry looking weeds with spikes, Solanum carolinense. I researched several weed kills and concluded on this one. And this stuff worked! The new gardener used it in the areas the weeds were (dug the weed up and strayed the roots) and that's it. They were gone.Highly recommend this stuff.

I understand this is an agricultural product. My application is for bind weed (aka morning glory) on bushes and in the lawn.Obviously, I do not want to hurt the underlying plants. I have looked for mixing concentration for my application and have found anywhere from 1.3 teaspoons per gallon of water to 3 ounces per gallon of water. Quite a range. With lack of informed instructions, I will have to trial and error solutions. The subject bottle of 2,4-D contains 46.8% of active ingredient. Other brands may contain more or less active ingredient. Therefore, 1.3 tsp product/gal H2O did nothing. 4.5 tsp/gal is starting to see some action. I am thinking 1 oz/gal from the 46.8% bottle might be enough.Mix well. Shake intermittently while spraying.

I recently tried out the 2,4-D Weed Killer, and here’s my review based on my experience:Pros:1. Effective Weed Control: This weed killer is excellent for tackling a variety of broadleaf weeds. It worked well on dandelions, chickweed, and other stubborn weeds in my yard.2. Versatile Use: It’s suitable for various areas, including lawns, pastures, rangelands, and even around fences and ditch banks. This versatility makes it a great option for multiple applications.3. Cost-Effective: The product is concentrated, meaning a little goes a long way. I found it very economical as a small amount can cover a large area.4. Quick Results: I started seeing results within 48 hours, with significant weed reduction over the following weeks.5. Easy Mixing Instructions: Despite some initial confusion, the mixing instructions are clear. Once you get the hang of it, it’s straightforward to prepare.Cons:1. Not Pet-Friendly: You need to be careful when applying it if you have pets. It’s best to keep them away from treated areas until it’s completely dry.2. Dilution Required: The product needs to be diluted before use, which can be a bit of a hassle if you’re used to ready-to-use products.3. Not Ideal for Hot Climates: The effectiveness can decrease in very hot climates, so it’s better used in cooler, drier conditions.Overall Experience:The 2,4-D Weed Killer is a powerful and economical solution for controlling broadleaf weeds. It’s versatile and provides quick results, making it a reliable choice for maintaining a healthy lawn. Just be mindful of the mixing process and safety precautions with pets.**Rating: 4.5 out of 5**If you need a dependable weed killer for various applications, this product is definitely worth considering. It’s particularly good for larger areas where a cost-effective solution is needed.

Summary:This kills weeds like Dandelion 100% dead. Unfortunately 2-4D alone is not as “broad-spectrum” as you’d imagine. Try a mixture of: dicamba, quinchlorac, triclopyr, sedge hammer, and 2-4D. Obv. Dont mix every chemical full strength. “Trimmec” will give you good ratios to match.Took 2-3 applications: 80% killed clover, 100% killed dandilion (like it never existed), and killed maybe 40-55% of all weeds. Turned wild violet yellow for 1 day. No effect to creeping charlie, wild onion, wild garlic.+2 stars because this is the cheapest broad spectrum you will find and it did not remotely damage any grass. But -2 stars because dicamba (added), triclopyr (raw chemical), and trimec (a brand name mixture) are all much more effective when mixed at a broad spectrum kill.Depends on the weeds you have, this may be a very very good product. I have to move on to crossbow, trichlopyr, dicamba, trimmec, quinchlorac, or oxalis killer. Most places say you cannot respray within 2 weeks. I find 3-5 days assuming ground temps above 60F and air temp below 90F should be ok. You can always follow up with a 1/2 strength mixture. If you dont see folding over weeds by day 5 (and ground temp is 60F) - the product did not work - spray again, increase dosage, add surfactant, or try dicamba/trimmec/triclopyr. By day 10 you should see severe yellowing of weeds and close death. If it does not look severe at day 10 they could bounce back. Spot spray those weeds! No effect on fescue turf grass or crabgrass. I did notice a very slight light green or yellowing effect on rye grass I sprayed heavy (trying to get hidden weeds). I also noticed most grasses seemed to grow faster that week.I mixed 1 tablespoon per 2 gallons and sprayed approx 2500sq ft. focusing on weeds and ignoring grass. Repeated for remaining yard. Directions say 0.25fl oz (1.5 teaspoons) per gallon per 1000sq ft. Definitely use a non-ionic surfactant at 1 tablespoon per gallon per 1000sq ft.I find Methylated Seed Oil (MSO) + a Non-Ionic Surfactant (NIS) each at approx. 1 tablespoon per gallon will help a lot with weed herbicide penetration.
