It handles 400W RMS, 1600W peak power output and generates tight bass at room shaking volume. The sub comes with two 1/4" & XLR combo inputs, one XLR and one Speakon output and provides great compatibility with a variety of sound and speaker systems. The CARPO-18SPW subwoofer is optimized and works great with the CARPO series column speaker such as CARPO-V5B, CARPO-V4. Its 3-channel amplifier with 2-channel satellite speaker outputs allows it to power the CARPO 2-pack passive column speakers. Altogether the speaker system delivers punchy bass and crisp highs. The subwoofer is built with sturdy construction, with heavy-duty metal grill and black texture finish. It has two recessing handles and two low-noise wheels, making it easy to transport. I purchased two of these units and operate them with a pair of passive tops on each sub per side...I have done indoor and outdoor events comfortably for audiences from 50 to more than 400 people with no issues at all...the high pass for the tops and internal crossover for the subwoofer works great and even though it doesn't say it has a built in limiter, it must, because even when the clip light is flashing, I have not heard any audible distortion on any occasions. The groups I work with find them amazing...especially for their compact size...I will be purchasing another pair in the near future to expand and enhance the system even more.

I put in an order for this subwoofer, but I must have done it right after they sold their last one. The company contacted me immediately to let me know that they just ran out. They were able to send me the Carpo-15SWPW subwoofer. I love this thing!! I needed something that was lighter than the 100lbs powered sub I was using, and I wanted to get into a 15 inch form factor. The box is solid as a rock, and looks amazing with the white color. No handles that stick out, and the amp is recessed into the box. I do many house parties, and this is absolutely perfect for placement under my table with two small 8 inch passive speakers on the sides. I ordered another one to fill out the system for larger ballroom weddings. I have powered tops, but you can't beat the option of being able to plug in a passive top if needed. I usually plug in a couple of 8 inch tops with 1 inch compression tweeters, and it sounds excellent. No weird hiss at all on any of the speakers. I can't say enough about their customer service. They were on top of everything immediately. Lightweight, versatile, forward projecting bass, and great design.

Photo attached is the basic design of a folded horn sub. This soundtown sub is no more that a forward facing sub with the ports in the back. However I give 2 stars just because the box seems solid. I replaced the woofer with a 20 year old Cerwin Vega LS-12, yes i said a 20 year old sub that has seen abuse! This improved the bass by probably %75, also far less distortion than the sorry woofer in there. As far as the apn and electronics inside, only time will tell. All in all, put a proper sub inside and apply it in the right application it sounds good.
