About S.O.S: A Century of Saving Saucepans

The first pre-soaped steel wool pad was invented in 1917 by a cooking utensil salesman named Irving Cox. His pad kept pots and pans looking clean and new without scratches or abrasions. Cox's invention became the first product for the company coined by his wife as Save Our Saucepans, or S.O.S. Almost a century later, S.O.S products are go-to items in millions of homes for safely scrubbing cookware as well as cleaning bathroom and kitchen surfaces.

Better than the large size if you don’t need it.

This size is perfect for cleanup jobs after cooking. I can’t stand the rust stain left if you try to save a regular sized steel wool soap pad. I also have an issue throwing away things that can still be used. I noticed no little pieces of steel to stick me like some do. The lemon scent is a bit strange and I prefer the traditional scent, but other than that I will definitely purchase again.

Love these. We keep these on hand. They clean when other cleaners do not work well and they work on a variety of surfaces.

These are small one use pads but you can get a couple of uses if it is not too bad.

I got tired of getting rusty SOS pads from infrequent use, so I thought I'd try these smaller ones. They are pricier, but the waste is much less. That said, I have since learned that if you don't use them all the time, simply drop them in a baggie and place in the freezer. They don't rust this way.

I thought I'd like these mini SOS pads better since they are use and dispose, but I'm pretty sure I prefer the regular size SOS pads. These definitely work, and SOS pads are a wonder - they've kept my stainless steel pots and pans looking new for over 20 years. They can be used for so many other things, too. My stove top has never looked so clean!

The actual cleaning pad is smaller then I am use to using in the past but still gets the stains off pots and pans easily

The first time I received my box of these fantastic little cleaners I was confused by the size of the pads. But once I used them, I was hooked. I don't let just anyone have one, either. These are just the perfect size for a small household or other smaller chore. By the time I am done with the dishes and pots, the pad is done, too. No more rusty pads falling apart, or sitting on the edge of the sink half used and in bad shape. NO MORE WASTE! I absolutely will not wash a single dish without them. Try them out. You may share yours, but I doubt it.Reporting live from a clean kitchen, I am Ruth.
