This was the same cost as having my local bow shop replace the serving on my bow. It allowed me to quickly fix replace it myself and now I have enough twine to do it several more times.

I've been using this style server for over 30 years and have always found it to be easy to use and gives a smooth serving. I haven't made a bow string in a long time and it's good to see that a product like this is still available.I made my first string yesterday and the end and center servings came out spot on.

This serving jig is not ready to use as delivered. There is too much gap between the ends of the spool and the frame. This gap prevents you from controlling how tight you can wind on the thread. I will need to get some washers to take up the space and get a better bolt to control drag consistently.

Spend more money to get something better. No matter how you route the string around the posts it gets frayed a little on the edges of the hole.It works, but I wouldn’t buy another one.
