I had Sound Forge 10 on my older computer and loved it!! When I updated, I tried the 30 day trial to see if it would work on my new computer. Today I bought the version and after many attempts - IT WILL NOT DOWNLOAD WITHOUT CONSTANT MESSAGES DURING DOWNLOAD THAT THERE IS AN ERROR. I tried changing browsers and it still didn't work. Then I went back to Amazon to see about a refund and it says NOT RETURNABLE OR REFUNDABLE!! ALL I WANT IS TO DOWNLOAD THE PROGRAM. ANY SUGGESTIONS?

I've used Sound Forge Audio Studio 10 for several years and have been very satisfied with it for my particular purposes. However, having purchased a new computer I wanted to have the same software on it as I had become accustomed to using. I was happy to see that version 10 was still available through Amazon and so I purchased it. BUT WHEN IT CAME TO DOWNLOADING, I GOT NOTHING/NOWHERE. I repeatedly got error messages and in the end I received no software. I tried repeatedly with different browsers and configurations. Same outcom every time. I finally gave up and found another source to get the software I needed. I have worked in the tech profession for many years and I have seen some poor applications and programs over that time, but I don't think I have ever seen anthing as horribly, pathetically bad as this. Nothing to be satisfied with here.

This gets the job done but it is not user friendly. It took reading the manual and watching demonstration videos several times over to use this program and I have previously built 3 websites. For the money it is the best program I have found, just be ready to spend some time learning the ropes with this software.

I downloaded thinking it would work better after upgrading to Windows 10, but it has the same issues as my older version.

I bought this program and thought it would be a good sound editor for my Sony Video editor but I find it's lacking in basic sound editing needs. I tried to reduce the sound of a hum by using "reduce noise" but found this option does not exist in this version of Soundforge. Audacity is FREE and can do everything i need without having to search through 20-30 tutorials. UPDATE, It's been 8 days since I sent a message and created a ticket for tech support for this Sony product. It's obvious MAGIX has no intention of supporting Sony products.*** Update, I finally heard from MAGIX and they informed me that this version of Sound Forge is an old version that CAN NOT do a simple thing like reduce noise..a complete waste of money...

I purchased this software to add to my notebook PC so I can record our group in various locations. The smaller program size is beneficial. I also own and use Sound Forge Pro (with CD Architect and Noise Reduction components) on the home-based desktop. A real advantage for me is to be able to work on the same file with both products. The menu selections are similar. So, there's almost no learning curve, as knowing how to use one product makes it easier to use the other. The iZotope products are an added plus for the Audio Studio, especially the "audio exciter," which adds some needed "air" to dull-sounding transcriptions. A good product with great features. Highly recommended.

Acceptable daw (digital audio workstation)I hesitate between Sound Forge Audio Studio and the Acid, Sony website gives some "hints". But the book of Riv Viers (Sound effects bible) gives you the needed information. For those who write, create music the Acid software is a better choice due to its ability to use loops, while Sound forge excels at recording, creating sound effects or repolishing audio files. Any of those daw will need you to buy additional plugins for sound effects. For that purpose you can look at free plugins - 32 bit- version such as de esser from digitalFishphones....I find the Sound Forge friendly for recording. After playing with those softwares and reading and re reading the book of Mike Senior or the SOS, music radar websites I begin to take a look at different daw at affordable price. Reaper with its 60 usd price is such one: it's unbeatable for some reasons: it can be used in Mac or Windows and at this price range it can be compared with the studio version of Sound Forge or Acid and it's only available on the internet (Cuckos site) and its peformances and abilities beat those stripped down studio version. For beginner like me Audacity is another surprise: it's free and friendly to use, it has all the basic necessary effects (like normalising) there's free lunch after all and it's good. One practical conclusion: at this price range don't expect to have all the bells and whistles. You will have to buy or download additional plugins and, for that purpose, you can read the recommendations found on sos or music radar sites. A daw is like a car, after chosing the model you have to look at the accompanying or offered packages. In music additional plugins can be quite expensive but you can find free plugins that you need. Happy hunting.

This is a great mastering suite. I record with Sonar (pro 6) but it is completely lacking in final mastering. The normalize in Sonar adds noise, but this is completely clean. The compressor is called Dynamics FX and is simple to use and works very well. Its a great deal and very easy to use.
