When I say drain it seems they suck juice very quickly and don't recover as quickly from one shot to the next. Very simple to use but having used them once I feel there could be improvement. It would be nice to know that you are not only increasing and lowering the output with the +-symbols AND what level you are shooting with a visual graph to identify that point its hard to know where along that graph you happen to be. A nice size flash unit. Not too big and not too small.

I purchased this flash for my Sony camera and it works as advertised. I had no real expectations of this flash other than to use it as a fill flash. It does the job well and its light weight. I have only used it a few times since purchasing it, but I can say that it meets my intended requirements and does a great job.

It's a mighty flash for a little guy. The only draw back is that it used AA batteries and not a lithium battery as others do. You can get the rechargeable ones. It's seems like a bit thirsty so bring plenty of batteries and you will be fine. I am glad it's a low profile flash as the last two Godox flashes broke off at the shoe. I like the locking mechanism on this one. I am pleased with it so far.

I have the bigger version also but deff prefer this one because it's so much more portable. Powerful enough for my amateur needs

I own and use a lot of Godox flashes, but I've never been 100% satisfied with their on-camera flashes. I own and use the V350S and it works well, but the HVL-F28RM is a step above. I trust the TTL more with the Sony flash and the benefit of being able to set a custom auto ISO limit when the flash is on may be worth the price alone. The Godox on auto ISO will range to the limit of the camera's auto ISO setting...which is a pain for event shooting. With a newer body like the 6700 or a74 you can set a limit specifically for the flash...awesome! Turn the flash off and the regular auto ISO range takes over, turn the flash on and the flash auto ISO range takes over. Even though this option is available in the camera menu when the Godox flash is attached, the flash camera doesn't use the flash ISO range.

Form factor is the reason to get this one.And it’s more affordable than the big brother.Also functions as a controller for other off camera flashes. Sony sensors love a little extra light. That’s when they perform best.

Needed a flash as I particularly shoot clubs/low light scenarios. This paired with the compact ZV-E10 and I'm getting some fantastic shots. The flash was plug and play though I'm sure there's some advanced settings that could be tweaked if necessary. Overall very satisfied with the purchase as they've helped me produce some solid shots!
