I’ve been using this tape for over ten years, and I’m surprised it’s still available. My camera has been good, but it’s time to move on to a camera that uses different and less expensive storage medium.

Product works great for an out-dated platform. We still love our old school camcorder.

Well I found my very old Canon video camera from 2004 ! Bought new Duracell replacement batteries, then found video tape from Tape City. Well I can’t believe it!! All is working, it may not be to modern day gold standard 4K but it still works in HD ! The tapes are brilliant! Thank you! We are just having fun videoing with a 16 year old camera! Classic!

Well, I no longer use HD Mini DV tapes, but these were fantastic. Never had a glitch.

I'm a videographer. Sony professional dedicated video cameras are my preferred method of recording events due to their reliability and performance but what good is the camera without a good recording media? These HD miniDV's have never failed me and the quality you get out of them is outstanding. I love the ability to buy these in packs of 5, I usually order about 10-15 of these each time and they last me a couple months. Never once have I had a problem of the tape snapping, or being unreadable, or unrecordable, these are very reliable and I hope Sony continues to put out such an amazing product.

I own a small videography business, filming mostly local shows (70+/year) and producing producing around 3,000 DVDs per year. I was plagued with a significant number of frame skipping that was actually on the mini-DVs (i.e. not frame drops resulting from interruptions while uploading to computer). After Googling the problem, I decided that the problem was that I was reusing the mini-DVs too many times and storing them improperly.. So I bought these fresh miniDVs and use them a max of 5 times before throwing them away. Have not had any skipping on the tape since then. Love Sony DVM HD - would not use anything else.

Good quality tapes for the price. You get 5 tapes in a package. This is how I got the tapes, the package was not divided up as other customers have said, but this may happen. The tapes give clear high digital video. I have used the same tapes over and over with no problems. I have stored these tapes and the quality has not faded. It is a good backup system to flash-drive cards that may get deleted.

worked great, best price. I've yet to reuse one of these tapes, but I've read that if you put the lens cap on and hit record on your camera that's the best way to "clear" a tape. The problem with simply recording over a used tape is that there is risk of errors occurring in the places on the tape where you had previously started and stopped recording.

Good decent quality for tapes. Now days, everyone is going to HDD camcorders because it saves money and HDD can actually record higher quality videos then these tapes. These are great but the quality was barely noticeable comparing them to standard miniDV tapes. I use this on my Canon HV30 and record at every format. There was barely any noticeable difference between these and standard tapes. Probably the reason is because these stupid camcorders have such low video megapixels. HD recording are now sort of getting better but nothing can compare to the RED so with camcorders like mine, your not gonna notice much of any picture improvements. So in my opinion, this no point of getting these expensive tapes. But these are still nice to have and record with if you have the old style tape recording instead of HDD and SD cards.

This tape has worked very well, but I suppose it also depends on the camera used. Unfortunately, this product is becoming obsolete. I suppose there are advantages to hard drive cameras, but I would always like the option to purchase and use my tape and tape cameras. I won't weigh the pros and cons here, because either way anything can happen to recorded information whether it's film, tape, or hard drive. Time will tell.
