My main use of a cd changer is for shuffle, aka random play, of five or six CDs. This one works well for that. Unlike Onkyo, which frequently errors out in the middle of shuffling. Unlike Yamaha, in which the shuffle function works only within a given CD, not across multiple CDs. And unlike one other brand I tried, which, after being on pause for 30 minutes (sometimes I have to take a call or go to a meeting), goes to low power mode, which wipes the slate clean on the random play.
