Its ok so long as you only record at 6x. Any higher doesn't work.

I'm sure they work... but they didn't on my laptop. Why would my computer cd drive have the blu-ray logo and not be able to read or write blu-ray discs.... ugh... Screw these stupid manufacturers...

Sony continues to provide me with reliable media. I had have some blank Blu-Ray discs in a pinch so I purchased Maxell BD-R's from Best Buy and most were quickly converted to coasters with various Blu-Ray burners. I rarely have a disc from Sony EVER give me trouble. These are very reliable and can be written to at a pretty good speed.

I put these discs through a disc quality test against Philips BD-R and Verbatim DataLife Plus BD-R discs and these discs scored the best. The only reason I don't give them 5 stars is that while they are very good, they are still not in the same league as the top quality consumer discs (such as the legendary SmartBlu). However, these are good enough quality that I would definitely use them for backing up important data.

It's media. Plastic spindle inside cardboard box. I can't really say much other than it does exactly what it is supposed to do at an acceptable price.

I read too many reviews that state off-brands can lose their data after a few years, that's why I buy Sony, Panasonic, etc. The guys that actually make the Blu-ray players and disc.I record to blu-ray and love the quality of the videos.
