Unfortunately this did not work at all for either of my horses’ manes. My gelding has quite a thick mane, but it didn’t work on my mare’s thin mane either. The blades seemed extremely dull and would not remove any hair. I watched the video tutorial from the manufacturer so I knew the most effective way to use the tool, it just did not work so I returned it.

It is a very good product, but it seems as if the blades do not come sharpened. I bought this brand new through Amazon, and it thins really well and pain-free. Despite this, it doesn't thin a lot. The mane remains pretty thick, thicker than I would like. I do recommend, maybe it was just mine?

works well on my cats and for grooming the horse. thinned mane and tail without tension on my sensitive young horse. I recommend going to youtube and watching the company instruction videos, very easy to follow and nice to see how well it works. The sologroom also worked to easily remove undercoat from my cats more kindly than the furminator with same results. I tried on the barn dog for similar happy combing. now, if it only worked for my own head.

Thinks manes without the pain of pulling. I have two fuzzy horses that hate to have their manes pulled (I can't blame them) and this bad boys solved it. They stand quietly and I'm done in half the time! Also helps you achieve a more natural looking dressage tail at the dock.

Tool definitely thins mane but it looks very choppy. Easier than pulling a thick mane but if my retired horses were still showing I don't think I would use it .

I bought this to thin my horse's mane out. It is supposed to be gentle, but my horse hated. I could tell it was hurting her. I don't know how it works for other animals, but horses aren't going to like this.

I tried this for the first time and if you have a horse with a thick winter coat that needs help shedding out - this is it! We have a 40 year old gelding in the barn who was looking like a Wooly Mamothl. The SoloRake was gentle and kind and in short time an entire wheelbarrow was filled with his coat. I also used it to gently thin out my horses mane after using the solocomb. It's worth it.

I am on my second purchase of a Solocomb and saw a youtube video using a Solorake in combination with the Solocomb. I purchased both the Solocomb and Solorake. The Solorake is a great tool to thin a horse's mane. It is double sided to thin a heavy or light mane. I would recommend both the Solocomb and Solorake. The time I normally used was cut to less than half. They are both excellent products and I would purchase again. Will buy as Christmas presents!
