The product worked for about 8 cuts then stopped working. This was the first time I had used it, but it was past the return window. Don't waste your money.

this completely changed doing my horses mane. he used to be skittish and jumping away from the comb, but he was perfectly still using this comb.i highly recommend to anyone with a horse who doesn’t love mane pulling.it was very easy to use and gave the same results minus the hassle!!!

After a few false starts, this tool did a great job of thinning out my Connemara mares super floofy mane. No more painful pulling! Highly recommend!

I show indressage. I need to pull my horses mane to braid him for shows. but I hate pulling manes. It is so slow. And face it. If you were a horse, you would not want someone literally pulling the hairs out of your neck. And that is what old fashioned mane pulling consists of. With this, You take small Sections of hair and back comb most of it, leaving the fewlongest hairs. And then you press the lever on the solo comb And it's teeth will cut that part off. No pulling hairs directly out of the horse's mane. Even my horses who have violently reacted to traditional mane pulling learn that this does not hurt and they will stand quietly while they're eating to have it done.

My warmblood gelding has a rather thin mane so pulling was out of the question. I had borrowed a solo comb from one of the trainers at the barn and it worked so well I bought one myself. It's now the only way I trim my horse's mane. There is a method to using it so make sure to read the directions. Rather expensive product, but it works!

This was exactly what I needed for my gelding. He absolutely cannot have his mane pulled without sedation, and this was the perfect solution. He has a very thick mane (like a Shetland pony) and is a 17.1 hand warmblood and the task took almost 1.5 hours. I was doing very small chunks at a time. At first he was apprehensive but very quickly realized I wasn't pulling then he relaxed and even enjoyed it. I can't speak to the longevity of the blades yet, but honestly, even if I have to replace them every pull, it's cheaper than having the vet sedate him. Looks just as good as a pulled mane!

This honestly took just as long as pulling. Additionally, the first time I tried it, it looked pretty terrible (like I had just used a pair of scissors). However after using a few times using it, my gelding's mane does look nice and as though it was pulled. It doesn't thin the mane like pulling does (this can be a pro or a con depending on your goal). This comb is really comfortable both more me and my horse, no more sore hands after pulling!I would say that if you have a crazy, unruly, mess of a mane, then pulling would be the better option. But this is a wonderful option if you have the time and perseverance to maintain your horses mane regularly.

This comb is so easy to use, 10 painless minutes is all it takes to keep a mane short and tidy. The horses appreciate me not pulling, it took them a while to get over the expectation of a pull when I back combed before cutting, but now they are relaxed and content and it makes the job a joy. You can do a fast job and have a perfectly acceptable appearance, or take your time and have your mane look just as good as a pulled mane. Love this product.
