Although the majority of this is plastic, it looks like metal, and hopefully long term unlike my old metal ones will withstand the weather. Took off a star because I wish it had a motion detection function. That said, so far it's lasting well into the night/morning. Also it's much nicer looking than one I tried that has just a flat top for one solar panel. This has one solar panel on each of the top panels and therefore looks much nicer and much more like my old electric ones. In addition the bubbled panes look like old glass which goes with the look of our house.

I came across this and had to try it out. I prefer solar. There is also heavy foot traffic in front of the house and I wanted the area to be illuminated for safety reasons. Once we received this we only had to place this on the lamp post and secure it with the screws that come with it. Super simple and provides a nice illumination so that walkers can at least see the sidewalk. Illumination lasts all night on most nights here in the PNW - huge plus. If you're looking for SUPER BRIGHT this is not your light. If you're looking for something to light your path to avoid tripping this would be the way to go. I actually want to get two more for the front yard to add a soft glow to the yard.
