I love the size of this drawing pad. It has a slightly rough texture and is light to medium weight thickness. It is great for all dry drawing mediums. I have only been using it for graphite drawings. Everything blends well when shading and I have noticed issues with erasing.

I like the smooth finish of this paper. It also is bright white which works well with colored pencils to let colors really pop. Pencil sketching would also work well, but I think the smooth tooth of the paper may not be enough to grab charcoal and keep it in place. Using markers to lay down large areas of color might possibly make this paper buckle, so test it before committing to using them. I think fine liners would be ok to use. There are perforations at the top of each page to facilitate removal. The back cover of this pad is thick and strong enough to sketch while holding the pad in your hand or on your lap. I can recommend this sketch pad.

I got this for a 2 year old to scribble on. It's fine but I had to carefully and time-consumingly repair an injury to the metal looping that was inflicted by the delivery outfit.

Large professional level sketch book, easy to carry filled with high grade paper. Upon completing a project it is suitable for framing and display or for selling. I am delighted with this product. SoHo presents great products for the artist :)

The Soho line of sketchbooks are, in my opinion, are artist grade. Very nice quality, very white paper. So far, I’ve just used mine for sketching out ideas for preliminary work on projects. In this particular sketchbook, I’ve only used graphite. I would suggest that if you used this sketchbook for graphite, be careful which eraser you use. I would stick with kneaded erasers after having used another kind. I’ve noticed this quality in some other high end sketchbooks, where anything but kneaded erasers can leave telltale marks and slight discoloration, and I do not sketch with a heavy hand. I haven’t yet tried this paper with any other media, but once I get a chance to, I’ll come back and revise my review to let you know how it goes.

I do lots of sketching and calligraphy practice so having a large sketch pad (11”x14”) is very helpful. This paper is thick and smooth and a high quality. When using pencil, Micron pen, and calligraphy brush pen on this paper, they each move smoothly on the paper.I also tried using brush markers on this paper and was pleasantly surprised that the markers did not bleed through to the other side of the paper. It really is a thick paper for pencils, pens, annd even markers!I love that each page is perforated and you can remove your pages cleanly without any tearing or rough edges. That feature is rare in most sketch pads with spiral bindings.I highly recommend this pad of paper for your drawing and sketching. I plan to get more of this paper for my calligraphy work and sketching.

I haven't had a chance to do a full sketch/drawing in this sketchpad but I was messing around and like the weight of the paper. I also like that you can remove the pages from the sketch book when you are finished. I've tried a couple different brands for these small sized sketch books and haven't really noticed much a difference between them. I'm an entry level and have only been drawing for about 2 years.
