I like our new rug. It’s a great place to wipe doggies paws. He stands on the rugs and waits for me to dry him.

I purchased three of these initially. After the first use I was absolutely amazed at these mats! NO MORE DOGGY MUDDY PRINTS on my floor! Easy to clean, extremely absorbent and pretty. I purchased six more!!

Awesome dog mat. My dog lays on it and it picks up more dirt than i realized my dog was tracking in.

Ordered two of these on the advice of multiple users on a forum I belong to and along with the product reviews on Amazon. As the wet autumn/winter is coming I wanted to protect my carpet from muddy, wet paws and feet! The mat arrived this morning and looks lovely, feels really soft and within the hour had been used multiple times! There is only a very slight damp feel to the carpet next to the mat whereas the mat itself feels wet and you can see the dirt that has been removed from the paws. The mat looks great, feels great, looks and feels well made and appears to be doing exactly what it was purchased for, I am really pleased.

great rug but will take a long time to dry if you wash it and hang outside

The mat is great. It is made of high quality material which soaks up a lot of the water from my dog's paws which would have otherwise ended up on the kitchen floor. And my dog even likes it - he uses it as a sleeping mat!

UPDATE 4/18/19UNBELIEVABLE !!!!!!!!!! Over the past year and almost a half, I have been dealing with health issues that have kept me from being able to do anything. My husband has really carried the load. I am thankful to say that I am now back on my feet. What in the world does this have to do with my Soggy Doggy’s you ask. Well, no matter how many times I told him, my husband washed our Soggy Doggy’s on heavy duty & dried them on high heat😳. One Soggy Doggy is showing a few signs of wear from that treatment. The ‘wear’ I am talking about is that it has faded more. Now, I don’t know about you, but a product that holds up to the worst abuse you can throw at it is worth its weight in gold. Unfortunately for the makers of Soggy Doggy, I have proven that they last years. I have a small one in the camper that still looks brand new.If you break down what Soggy Doggy’s cost against how long they last, they are a bargain. I have gone through so many area & throw rugs in the almost five years since I purchased my Soggy Doggy’s.Do yourself a favor, BUY A SOGGY DOGGY! Not only will you not be disappointed, but the darn thing lasts forever.UPDATE 12/2017 100 STARS ⭐️Like many others, we flooded due to Harvey. We got three feet of water in our house. Because we flooded from the river we also had a current that worked like a blender inside with our possessions. With the heat, the gooey residue from the flood water mixed with our furnishings created a stinky, toxic slurry. At the bottom of this were my two Soggy Doggy’s. To clean flood items you must use bleach & hot water. You need to either soak or wash items as thick as a Soggy Doggy twice. Now, this goes against everything that the manufacturer says to do, but I wanted to save my Soggy Doggy’s.I did not get around to washing them for a couple weeks. They were in a heap in the front yard. After two heavy duty cycles, with hot water and lots of bleach my Soggy Doggy’s are slightly faded. Other than that, you would never know the condition they had been in.To me, the best thing was when I brought the clean Soggy Doggy’s into the camper - my Babies immediately sat, laid and rolled on them!!! Too often, the stress on animals is overlooked, there is too much that needs done and it all needs done yesterday. For them to get ‘their’ Soggy Doggy’s back after the horrible shape they were in, I would pay any price!I like to read reviews before purchasing an item, but very seldom write one (shame on me). This product is so overwhelmingly good I have to write this review. To address some reviews I have read: too expensive. It is expensive, but given the amount of material in each one they are actually reasonably priced. too bulky to open a door over: very true. wonderful under a dog door, I actually placed a low mat in front of one door for the door to open over before getting to the soggy doggy, problem solved. came apart when washed: I have 4 soggy doggies, 2 xl, 1 doormat, 1 shammy. I have washed all of them multiple times with no problem. I have a newish Cabrio top loading washer & use it on bulky setting. Dryer is also newish Cabrio, I am able to dry it on low heat, it takes approx 45 min for the xl to dry. Many places, including Amazon sell 'rug backing', one is a thick liquid that can be brushed on, allow to dry 24 hrs, start using again. While I would prefer Soggy Doggy to come with a better backing, it is well worth applying your own. I have a pyr, a grt dane, a lab, & 2 med size dogs that use a dog door. I found it almost impossible to get them to wait long enough before moving off the soggy doggy for their feet to get dry enough, so I purchased a second one & solved the problem. As others have stated, it not only dries their feet, it also collects tree leaves, grass clippings... I am going to purchase another one to use in our camper. I cannot recommend this product enough.Update 7/30/14I wash my 60" doormat soggy doggies bi-weekly. One, one week, the other the next week... These have held up beyond expectations!! I don't think they have faded at all, even the bone design still looks white-cream. I pre-wash them once or twice depending on the amount of dirt. I am even more amazed now than I was. My dogs destroy throw rugs running in & out, the soggy doggies just keep going!!!

I'll preface that I live in the Pacific NW, it rains all winter here, and our yard is pretty much mud. This rug is great for absorbing everything my dogs' muddy paws can offer and the large size ensures human feet and animal paws all have enough space to dry off when we come in the door. My trick is to have the dogs come in and then sit on the rug while I give them a treat; this sitting time lets the backs of their legs and their butts get dried off (our dogs have fluffy pants). The dogs also love sleeping on the rug; it's soft and plush. I wasn't crazy about the bone design, as I don't understand why animal home products/decor must have animal-themed prints/designs on them, but I've grown used to it and don't mind it considering the rug does a good job helping to keep my floors clean.I've owned this rug for a little over a month and only saw it shed a little the first day or two it was down. The shedding only came from the white bone design. The rug can move around some if your dogs wrestle on it or if you accidentally shuffle into it. The backing is rubbery to kind of help the rug stay in place, but I was legitimately thinking of adhesing or velcroing it to the floor (we have wood floors that need to be refinished). The rug is heavy though, so it's own weight does help keep the rug mostly in place.I've shaken the rug outside to clean off any debris and amazingly that works really well. I have not tried vacuuming it, but have not found a need as the shaking off works so well. I've owned many rugs that had to be vacuumed or washed to get cleaned off, and this is not one of them. I even have the dark brown color and there isn't any leftover debris/dog hair/etc. that sticks to make the rug look bad.I do believe that washing is necessary though to clean out the absorbing fibers. After a month of use, I'm finding the absorbency has gone down and when my dogs step off the rug there are wet footprints being left on the floor, which had previously been taken care of by the rug.I'll report back once I've washed it to update how it holds up in the wash.UPDATE: The rug has been washed many times without further shedding or general deterioration. The white bone pattern is now kind of speckled dalmation style as the white fibers and brown fibers have intermingled with wear and washing. I still like the rug and don't feel it detracts. The rug does not seem to absorb as well as it did with its first use. It is still absorbent, but I do need to wash more frequently now to get the fibers cleaned and regain that absorbency again. Initially I got away with not washing for a month, and now weekly or bi-weekly washings would be better.
