I haven't used this extensively, but it's ok. It does seem so pick up the moisture, but not as much as I had hoped. I've used it for a camping toilet and it's ok for that. Maybe I need to use more at a time?

We regularly go camping off-grid, but nobody likes to use a hole in the ground in the rain when a bucket toilet can be used instead. This material is exactly like the filler in bucket-toilet liners but a fraction of the cost. It is highly functional, easy to use, and exactly like the name brand. Would recommend for this purpose!

Product just arrived today . I hope it does better than how it was packaged and labeled! No instructions,and it only states “water absorbing polymer and made in china”. I can’t really recommend it due to the packaging..What if a customer’s child accidentally got into it, or it was damaged during transit and it leaked??? .. not child proof. I do NOT plan to purchase again.I will spend the extra money for better labeling and packaging .

Great product/terrible packaging! This product came in a bag with no directions. Once you figure how much water to use it is great! I used it in place of sand for balloon arch bases.

This does what it says it will do, absorb water like a monster. The packaging doesn't look like the product page photos, this came like it was packed in someone's kitchen. No stars removed since it works as I had hoped.

This is your standard absorbant gel used for a bunch of different reasons. I have used this exact chemical in a portable toilet during a camp trip where I didn't want the tank sloshing around in the back of the truck.I've also used this, and similar products for adding to potted plants. I find it useful for potted trees that have to be brought in during the winter. Incorporating this into the potting mix will help extend your watering times while avoiding root rot or bugs.This particular product appears pretty pure and unpolluted with other materials so I'll trust the manufacturing process, but for plant applications ensure you use sparingly because this gel EXPANDS. If you incorporate too much of it dry, it will absolutely expand enough to cause the potting mix to overflow the pot and potentially damage the plant. Note, that is not an issue with this product but user error, so pay attention.Since this is a standard commodity that looks pure, at six bucks retail for just shy of a pound it's a 5 star deal.

Sodium Polyacrylate is wonderful for absorbing water. We use it as “human cat litter” for camping.But the Rainflow packaging is awful. It’s just a taped up ziplock baggie with no label or chemical information. Inexcusable for a blue powder that looks edible. Also, the baggie has partially failed and is spilling its contents internally, so opening it was messy.It also took a long time to arrive, so double check delivery dates before ordering. I’m not deducting a star for this, but consider it worth noting.Overall despite the good price, I consider this average at best.
