You'll save a lot of money using a 5/10/or 20lb tank of CO2 and this adapter to carbonate your water.

1. When first hooked up, air leaked from where adapter connects to CO2 tank. The white plastic O-ring/gasket inside the connector was not die cut correctly, a small piece of white plastic was left in the donut hole in the center of the washer. After this was removed, it made a good connection. So I give this an F grade for product quality control.2. SodaStream DOES NOT require a regulator on a large CO2 tank. If there is a regulator on your CO2 tank, you should remove it first. SodaStream will not work with a regulator attached.3. The gas valve on the CO2 tank should be open all the way or closed all the way, not half or part way open when in use. It needs to be fully open when using CO2. This is mainly to prevent damage to the valve on your CO2 tank.4. Turn gas off at CO2 tank when not in use and bleed the line to relieve all pressure. This is for safety (a CO2 leak can be fatal) but also saves wear and tear on your connectors and hose. The hoses and connectors would be under constant 800-900PSI at all times. If this were to break or bust, the hose would be whipping around at high speed and would make it near impossible to safely get near enough to the CO2 tank to turn off the gas. Also, if there are small leaks in this product or connections that are not noticeable, you will burn through a CO2 tank in no time.5. This particular model only works with manual mechanical style push-the-button to carbonate soda machines. It DOES not work with one touch electric style automatic soda makers.6. I have only had this Soda to C02 tank adapter for 24 hours but so far so good. It fits and does the job upon initial testing.7. For anyone considering this product, I will say the bubbles are larger than with a small tank that comes with soda maker. They also seem to escape faster when soda is poured into a glass and when ice is added. This leads to an overall flatter soda experience. I would advise to only carbonate very cold liquids, keep them refrigerated, and add ice to the glass only after pouring the soda -- not before, and drink quickly or pour smaller portions for the best experience.UPDATE: While what I said above in #7 is true, we did find one of the internal valves in our soda machine was leaking. After getting a new machine, the tank carbonates as well as the smaller SS tanks. I still recommend refrigerating mixes to be carbonated and gassing only very cold liquids for best results.I will update the review if there are any changes to the experience. Overall, a good product that does what I expected it to.

Worked great for a few weeks but then stated to leak and shortly thereafter the quick connect broke and forcefully flew off the adapter.

This was delivered to me March 9th. I purchased a 5lb CO2 bottle from a local gas supplier. All good.1) I asked for a 'self-siphoning' bottle, which they do not supply. If you don't have a self-siphoning bottle, then use the tank inverted, with the valve down. The CO2 in the tank is a liquid, so it needs to flow out through the valve on the bottle. I am going to construct a stand out of PVC to hold it upside down.2) The purchase included two nylon white washers, which are the same. Use one to connect the CGA320 Adapter Hose to the CO2 bottle. The other is a spare. Then tighten with a wrench. I asked the gas supplier about using teflon tape. He said this was a big no-no, he said if you have to use teflon tape with high pressure gas (3000psi), then something is wrong. I am not using teflon tape ANYWHERE, and have no leaks in the line. I tested with dawn detergent self-foaming soap. No gas bubbles. This is good. He also suggested securing the black gas line when first using. If it fails, it can seriously whip around and cause injuries, and prevent you from reaching the shutoff. Good advice.3) Use a wrench to tighten the plastic fitting into the Sodastream. Make sure to tighten, but not tight enough to crack the plastic.4) The SodaStream 'puff button' on the top actually causes a slow leak through the probe that goes into the SodaStream water bottle. See if yours does this. Put a SodaStream water bottle filled up to the line into the unit. Look for little tiny CO2 leaks into the water. If you have small bubble leaks without pushing the puffer button, then your SodaStream itself is causing a very slow leak. Lesson Learned: Close the valve on the CO2 bottle when done using. Even after closing the valve the residual pressure in the black line caused some bubbles.5) I filled the SodaStream bottle several times to clear out any residual plastic taste. Actually I never noticed it at all, but did it anyway.6) Use cold water, since this will absorb more CO2 then warm water.7) It would be really helpful if the product came with some instructions.

I read several other reviews that scared me about several of these hoses for the Soda Stream mods saying that they exploded after the first couple of uses, one claiming harm and injury, but so far so good. Was easy to install, you will need a wrench to tighten the end that connects to the gas tank valve, but that's pretty much standard and to be expected whenever you attach a hose to a tank of compressed gas. Other hoses on the market had customers reporting strange tastes, I have noticed nothing like that with this hose, it has been the same quality as the normal Soda Stream Co2 cylinders. Of course I also purchased certified Food and Beverage Grade Co2 from a licensed vendor with paperwork, rather than some of these other nutjobs on YouTube talking about going to an industrial welding shop for their gas, which is well, not very smart to put it kindly. But whatever.I will update this review if anything changes, but so far everything has been good. Just make sure you know what you are doing, it's not rocket science, but take your time, purchase a tank and gas that is Food Grade, and everything should be fine. The only criticism would be that the hose came with absolutely not directions whatsoever, this might have been intentional, as this is an item that is used to "modify" another product, but it's just a hose and a couple washer rings in a bag is all you get, which is why I said to make sure you know what you are doing. Otherwise, sit back and enjoy the bubbles and save money. Thank you, cheers!!!
