Actually one of the worst litters I’ve used. The pee does not get absorbed and just ends up wet in the bottom. Does not absorb moisture or smell at all. The pieces are so big and end up everywhere in my house. Highly tracking!! Don’t get it.

This is by far the best crystal cat litter I've found. It used to be such a great value, but everything has gone up. I hope it becomes affordable again.

It does a decent job of absorbing, but does not control odor well and is the dustiest litter I have ever used. We have to run the fan every time we change the litter because of the huge dust cloud. It doesn't work for our home, but if you're using it outdoors or in a very well ventilated area it would probably be okay.

Like: Easy to clean, mostly contained smell, little goes a long way, and long lasting. The bag lasted me from June or July until November: one cat and two litter boxes with regular cleanings.Dislike: VERY dusty. I bought this thinking it would odor lock and not be dusty nut my goodness. The dust makes me dog reverse sneeze if he's in the room while I'm cleaning the box. If my cat uses the box while I'm in the room I feel like the dust impregnates my nose and it takes forever to get the smell out of there. Were convinced its what caused myself and my dog to both get a bacterial sinus infection. Maybe not him, but for me definitely.

Our previous cat litter was Fresh Step Crystals, which has become hard to find and very expensive. The last few bags we had did not absorb liquids nearly as well as it previously did, so I decided to try this litter. It had all the advantages of Fresh Step Crystals but more advantages: less expensive, smaller crystals, better odor prevention, better absorbancy of liquids. I like the fact that it clumps, because that allows you to remove all sources of the urine odor.Here are a couple of tips for success. Use a litter pan liner (or plastic garbage bag) before pouring the litter in the pan. This prevents the clumps from sticking to the litter pan. We have not noticed dust from this litter, but the crystals are smaller than the ones in Fresh Step. Kitty seems to like this better; the crystals don't hurt her feet at all. To prevent tracking litter in other areas of the house, get a mat to place under the litter box. Paws get cleaned as the cat exits the box, and the mat keeps any tracked litter contained.

The first time I dumped the litter in, it clouded out dust much worse than any other litter (normal or silica) I've used. I had hoped it was just the initial dust from shipping that settles in the bottom (even though I didnt reach the bottom of the 30lb bag), but it leaves dust in the air every time the cats use it. I can hear the air purifier kick on when they're done in the box.The crystals also stay yellow. I've never had any issues with silica being dusty or discolored, but this litter does both.The crystals are too large to sift through the average scooper, but this is not a negative as I was aware of this before hand and I don't mind.I wish we hadn't decided to get the huge bag of this.

After starting to use crystal cat litter, I've gone through many different brands, types and price ranges, but I always come back to So Phresh. I still find that this has the best odor reduction/minimization and best longevity. I have one cat, and I usually only have to change her litter once a month. Most people don't even realize I have a cat until they see her. I don't recall how long the entire bag lasted me last time, but I think it was well over 8 months.Other brands I found do not reduce odor as much and were all really dusty, which was terrible for my allergies. This one did have some dust, but very minimal when compared to other brands. I did read some reviews where people say that the crystals are too large. They are larger than other brands for sure (see attached photo), although they look smaller than I remember, so maybe they have reduced the size a little? My cat doesn't mind the size, but if you find that your cat is picky with their feet and the feeling of bigger litter, that may be something to consider. I bought this in store the first time, so I bought the scoop that goes with this, which is made to scoop bigger crystals. It might not be as compatible with the standard (smaller) scoops.Lastly, I know a lot of people like to scoop the poop away and then mix the entire litter, but I found that reduced the life span of the crystal litter and increased the odor for me. Instead, I usually just scoop away the poop and try to scoop around the soiled areas. I will shake the pan to settle the crystals, but that's it. Of course, this might not work for everyone, especially people with multiple cats.
