It’s fairly light, works well and is absorbent.Large birds can’t just have some paper under them.We like this litter for our bird and our grandson used it for his rabbit.

I’ve used this product for 20+ years and wouldn’t ever switch - it’s the perfect thing for the bottoms of my parrot’s cages. Absorbent and odor absorbing, sanitary and earth friendly.

I've had a parakeet for 12 years, but unfortunately my sister is allergic to birds. We still love our bird, she can't help it, but we do all we can to cut down on dander, odor, and feathers. I felt like this definitely kept the bird odor to a minimum, and also did a good job of absorbing seed shells and whatnot so when she flutters around the cage, she did not send feathers and fluff everywhere, which was a nice surprise. I was using grit paper, but my bird refuses to go down to the bottom of the cage ever, so this worked well. Also, because she is an older bird who occassionally loses her balance and has little issues, this is so much softer for her to land on. When she falls, she doesn't get stunned anymore - a total bonus. And my bird - Luna - loves colors and has really been enjoying the blue down there. LOL.

Most cage fillers have some type of smell which I detest and don't want near my bird. So this works so well. No smell. nice and light so it doesn't weigh his house down when I'm moving it. My parakeet is fine with it and I don't worry on the few times he might walk on the bottom grate above it.
