This firewood holder is well built. I made it 7 feet log and 4 feet high and it handle that load of firewood fine. I would use a heavier screw if available though the ones supplied would likely be fine and I would suggest using rough cut cedar because it is actual 2x4. Otherwise stud lumber will be more loose fitting.

The brackets are very strong and sturdy. What I like the most is the flexibility offers in sizing and installing it. Other than the log rack there are so many other things one can make and I am working on it. The possibilities are limited only by the DIYer,s imagination

The brackets work well and it’s relatively easy to assemble with the included screws and a power drill (as long as you have 2’x4’s and a saw.) seems like it’s much sturdier than a lot of the metal racks you can buy online or at home depot. We have ours set up as a 4’x4’. One small issue which others have mentioned is that the footprint - Front to back - is a little narrow. I plan to attach a couple extra lengths of 2’x4’ to the outsides of base cross bars to add a little more ground contact and stability.

Overall, I am happy with these brackets. They are well made and easy to assemble. It's nice that they provided screws, though you may wish to use your own.Things to consider before you buy:- The bracket is not very wide. I built my rack 8 feet tall. Even using brackets at the top and bottom, I don't think that it's stable enough. It'll be fine once it's full of wood, but I think I'd stixk with 4-5 feet max.- I cut my wood to 18 inches long. If you cover the rack, a good deal of the firewood will stick out past the rack.- I thought the rubber seal was a nice feature. I ripped parts of it when inserting the treated 2x4s. I don't think really adds much in hindsight. If you're worried about water, I'd just caulk it.Again, I am overall happy, but I do wish it was more like 16 inches wide.
