Box turned out to be what I expected, and will serve me well for receipts and papers. However the snaps are weak and pop open frequently. I solved the problem by drilling and installing an aluminum pop rivet and washer between each set of snaps. I do not need to ever take apart the box, so this is a permanent fix. I like the reinforced corners on the lid also, and will order more of the same type box.

UPDATE:The seller reached out and suggested that I contact Amazon for a refund/return. I appreciated the gesture. I literally need the boxes as I'm moving classrooms and need to store my classroom CD collection in a space-saving unit. This is better than nothing, but I'll be using some super glue to keep the snaps shut.Original Review:Easy enough to put together, and the cardboard itself is really sturdy, but I might super glue the snaps in place because they've already popped apart a few times. (Wouldn't that be great to happen when it's full of CDs/DVDs?!)I was most excited for the divider and unfortunately, that's the thing that really tanks the whole item. The snaps were placed off center, so the divider is completely crooked and renders half the box unusable anyway. And then as I was trying to unsnap the divider, the inside piece just came off the box anyway. Look, I know I could just glue it back in place, and I might. But for a cardboard box this expensive, I expected it to be better quality than this. Really disappointed.

These absolutely SAVED me. Great price & something to suit organising my CD collection within a cabinet was hard to find. Made of sturdy material. Would not suit anyone who wants to move around their collection too much, but if you just want to organise CDs for easy access these are fantastic. So glad I took the punt.

My wife and I buy only CDs and then rip them to XBox Music. By buying CDs the music arrives with a ready-made backup completely under our own ownership and control. Plus of course we already had a large CD library pre-dating streaming we have been ripping on a CD-by-CD basis when we become re-interested in listening to an old CD.Up until this point we were still in the mode of having the CDs in readily available racks in the living room based on the old process of grabbing a CD and sticking it into a CD player. Now that we've shifted to streaming ripped copies, it was time to free up that space in the living room. Once ripped, it made sense to put the CDs in storage out of sight.I did a LOT of poking around on the Internet and generally wasn't finding what I was looking for. Something reasonably inexpensive, not too fancy, high density without a lot of wasted volume, and more or less like a "banker's box" that is used for storing old accounting files.I found these and ordered four of them to get over the free shipping limit. They just arrived and I just finished assembling them and filling them with CDs. So far they seem to fit my requirements just perfectly. These are NOT for DVDs. They are for CDs. By being for CDs, they don't have any extra volume that gets wasted when not being used for DVDs. Although if somebody is looking to toss a few DVDs in with primarily CDs, then perhaps turning the DVDs sideways might work. However be aware DVDs were not the primary intention of these cases. They perfectly hold CDs in both the standard and thin plastic jewel cases, and obviously CDs in sleeves only. By first hand experience I can say they hold 33 standard jewel cases per side, so 66 total. That "should" mean they'd hold 66 thin jewel cases per side for 132 total. However all our CDs are in their original standard size cases so I have no first hand experience with putting thin cases in them.In a large library there can be a few CDs in non-standard packaging of various sorts, and sometimes that package can be a smidge wider than a standard CD jewel case. These always tend to create problems in any kind of CD storage unit. Because the box is perfectly designed for jewel cases, those non-standard CD packages can be "overly snug". I generally found they fit but usually in the middle of a row and not at the ends. The box has more flexibility to expand slightly in the middle than at the ends. Since such packaging is rare, it's not an issue. If it was important the CDs could always be transferred into more standard jewel cases. With the boxes filled with jewel cases they seem sturdy enough to be stacked three or four high. I'm always surprised just how heavy 66 CDs in jewel cases can end up being when only a single CD in a jewel case seems pretty lightThere might be some concern for stacking them three or four high if they are filled with only CDs in sleeves. CDs in sleeves won't be as tall as jewel cases and won't add to the structural support like jewel cases will. The box material is sturdy cardboard with metal snaps. Without jewel cases inside to provide structural support, the boxes will likely slowly crush over time if enough weight is stacked on top of them. One of these boxes filled with 66 CDs in jewel cases has some pretty hefty weight to it.If you're looking for a CD container that'll take a lot of abuse constantly being tossed around, stuff stacked on it, or constantly being opened and closed, these might not be the right answer. If you're looking for a CD container primarily for storing CDs out of the way, these seem great. As my heading says, after having put four into service I'll now be ordering four more without the slightest hesitation.

For my purpose, these are OK but they do not stay snapped very well. If you need to access what is stored in these very often, look for something stronger. They come flat and folded, you have to assemble them. I don't think the bottom edges will wear very well. When you handle them, the snaps sometimes come apart. I store my archived CDs and DVDs in them in paper envelopes so I don't access them much. The good things are that they are black and unobtrusive and discs in envelopes fit perfectly. There is a divider that lets you store two rows. I put some index dividers in so I can find a disc if I need to. All my music and movies are stored digitally in iTunes so I only rarely have to lay my hands on the discs. These really cut down the amount of space needed to store my collection and were economical.Update: to solve the weak snap problem, I have secured all the corners with hot glue. This is some work but I still like the compact and unobtrusive look of these boxes.

I have to tell you, for the money this product is at the top of my list!!!!!It not only looks good, is easy to assemble, and is sturdy. It is versatile and well constructed. The fact that it can be collapsed and stored to a one inch thickness is great too. I initially bought only a couple of these units to try them to see if they would work in the organization I had hoped for. They are deep enough, but not too deep. When completely full to capacity they are still a good size to manage and not too heavy. The removable divider also makes them more versatile to use for other things if you decide you want to for other than the intended purpose. The lids fit down over the top of the box so that transporting more than one at a time is easy and secure. They are plenty sturdy to stack one on top of the other,if desired. After unpacking and assembling the first order, I ordered twice more and have now completely organized my entire CD collection. The units look good enough for displaying them in the open too. I am sure that I will have many years of use of these. As my collection grows I will be making additional purchases. I give this product 6 out of 5 stars!!!!
