So far, has been a wonderful hook. My girl isn't super big yet by any means, but she was definitely outgrowing the small hook I had bought from the pet store. This hook handles her well and upon testing it a bit, it can hold weight pretty well. Putting it together wasn't very difficult, and it's held well without having to tighten anything once again.

I have a Burmese python that needs a little more size and support when hooking him out of his enclosure. This size is perfect because it's adjustable and durable. Easy to assemble and twist into lock position. There's guide lines on where the locks extend to. Quality hook for my needs. I'd recommend this for larger snakes or if you need to keep your distance for trapping. Can't beat the price for this quality.

I used this while looking for reptiles out in the woods - while the extendability worked well, the hook fell out of the head piece & wouldn't screw back in. Not very durable.

If you’re serious about dealing with snakes, this is the snake hook for you. Don’t look anywhere else. I started with a cheap one and after less than six months with minimal use, the hook snapped completely off. No chance of that with this hook! This is well designed and built. The two adjustable lengths are perfect for changing situations but doesn’t make the piece feel cheap or flimsy. I will never look for anything but this going forward. Would recommend 100%!

Kinda flimsy. If you’re in a rush to extend it and tighten it, you may not get it tight enough or extend it too long, only to fall apart. Debating if to return it.It should be ok for the weight of a snake that it specifies which is around 5lb. Nothing great but will do a job if you a careful to extend it and tight it properly but for field work I wouldn’t recommend it which maybe why I might send it back.

I love it. It collapses down and extends out easily. I'm 5'8", and when I extended the pole all the way out, it was way too long for me to use, so I collapsed it down a few inches and it was perfect. I would guess it would be a great fit for people up to about 6'4" possibly taller. Feels very sturdy.

Just received this snake hook today so I haven't had a chance to use it with a snake yet. It seems sturdy enough picking up other heavy objects around the house. It's not too hard to put together, simply make sure the green part is to the top of the screw before you insert the pole and twist to tighten it. The pole with the hook attached was slipping and wouldn't tighten, but when I didn't pull the pole out as much it tightened better. As of right now the only reason I've taken off a star is because the photos do not show what you get. As another review mentioned, there are no springs in this at all. The attachment point of the hook is different from what is pictured too. Overall it seems like a good deal to me, pretty sturdy, telescopes well, and is a good length.

It is ok. The pole telescopes but I think the part of the pole the hook is fixed to is missing a part, like a stopper that keeps it from falling out/extending itself. This can be dangerous when working with hots. I ended up using epoxy adhesive to just affix it into the other part of the pole and the rest of the pole extends just fine. It is OK now. Seems durable and a good buy otherwise! It isnt flimsy and doesnt bend/flex.
