All the Smead pressboard products I've used are high quality, and these are no exception. They last forever under heavy usuage. Length is more than I expected, so I trimmed them to size with a heavy duty cutter. Not worth the cost, unless your use is heavy duty. Recommended.

These are a very durable material, and the fact that they are made from recycled materials is awesome. I needed to be able to organize some lightweight templates cut from very thin aluminum and lightweight plastic, and these fit the bill perfectly. I now have organization for my cutting and tracing templates instead of the drawer full of mess I had before. The tabs plates on one end of these are so handy for organizing them by name, and I am very happy with this product. 5 Stars!

These file guides by Smead are thick and durable, as advertised, despite being made from 100% recycled material. I stick to recycled materials when I can, but sometimes that means sacrificing quality—not so when it comes to Smead! These are heavy-duty file guides with flat, vertical metal tabs that make filing a breeze. Definitely recommend!

I bought the package of Smead 100% recycled end tab pressboard file guides (63235) as part of my filing solution matrix. However, I discovered that they will not work as expected. They are too long for my filing cabinet. I will use my guillotine to cut about ten of them down to a workable size and then donate the remaining forty or so guides in about six months.Note – the Smead “LEGAL” file guides (63235) are about 15 7/8 inches in length and the Smead SafeSHIELD® Premium Pressboard Classification File Folders are 14 ¾ inches in length. The quality is okay – the folks at Smead riveted a metal tab to each guide with great care. I believe that the folks at Smead are directing their products more towards commercial and business applications. The guides and their other products that I am using are TOO robust for the causal user. The guides are durable – the true test for this is time and use. The construction is consistent throughout the guides included in the package. The package also includes a set of labels and plastic tabs. The only “flaw” is the perforated bottom side. I placed the word, flaw, in quotation marks because the Smead folks may have designed and manufactured the guides in this way for a reason.I am not sure about the price point – the guides are a bit higher in price than I expected. I want to point out that when manufacturers make paper products from recycled content the final product usually costs more than items made from virgin wood. I would like to commend the Smead folks for taking the added processing steps to boost the use of recycled materials in these pressboard files. They made these guides from 100% recycled content. The Smead folks’ focus on sustainability is an earnest effort since these guides are SFI Sourcing Certified. The use of sustainable materials may be one of the primary reasons for the higher price point.I will summarize my disappointment with the guides’ lack of fit with the words of two great philosophers -- Mick Jagger and Keith Richards. Their profound saying is: “You can't always get what you want … But if you try sometimes, you just might find … You just might find … You get what you need.” What I learned from their words is that one needs to work more at accepting compromises in life. I am sure that the files that I donate will be a more perfect fit for someone else. These guides are a four-star product. I added a star for the folks at Smead using 100% recycled content to produce the guides.

These really are heavy duty as the description states. Nice sturdy density of the pressboard and the metal tabs are securely attached and not flimsy at all. I believe these are meant more for commercial usage than home office due to their size. With the end metal tabs these were just a tad too long as is for seperating/categorizing my work files but that is my mistake in not noting the measurements in the description. I can attest to the quality as they were challenging to cut down to size which means these will likely hold up for a long time with no issues.

Not really sure what the intended use of these are for most people. My daughter works in accounting department for a company that uses older style filing cabinets that has a rod that goes through the bottom grommet of a file separator. These are no longer available on the market and she asked me if I had any solutions. I found these I cut them and put a grommet in the bottom for her. She is ecstatic about it! So we converted all 50 in the box for her to do her work better. I don't care if she gets money for the company for it but it will make her more successful in her day-to-day job at the company. These worked out great! They are exactly what they say they are. Nice quality and the metal flag on there mimics her vintage folder separators. I highly recommend these for whatever your purposes are.
