We’re bummed we’ve run out of this supplement and need to restock! We've been using it with our 16-year-old Warmblood, who tends to get a bit tight in his hind end and has some nervous energy. Since we started him on this, it’s really made a difference and he’s much looser in his hindquarters and isn’t as jumpy or on edge. We can even lift his tail without any tension, which used to be a real struggle before we started using it. It’s definitely been a game-changer for him!

This pelleted form hasnt been refused in my barn yet. They all seem to like it. It works great to keep horses focused at shows and relaxed on trailer rides.

I have a gelding who was gelded late and this supplement helped even him out so much! He was always quirky but with this supplement it was manageable.

I have tried a few calming supplements for my energetic and occasionally anxiety-prone Arabian – I really like these Smart Calm pellets. There is obviously a limit as to how much calming supplements can help manage behavior, but I have found that this supplement seems to take the edge off, and keep him calm enough to listen to me and be redirectable before having a complete meltdown.SmartPak also sells this in a double-pack with one of their GI supplements – I do think these may have a synergistic effect.I have been feeding this smart calm on an as-needed basis prior to riding/exercise, and have been overall very happy with the results!

My horse is a kill pen rescue, whatever happened to him before made him super nervous and this is a game changer. He’s so much calmer and safer to work with I can’t be more impressed.

My wife's show horses can be prone to anxiety when traveling and competing at show venues, so they always make sure to pack these SmartCalm pellets to help take the edge off. The ingredients used in these pellets are all natural and USEF show-legal, so they don't have to worry about any ramifications if a horse was randomly drug-tested.The pellets are highly palatable and one of the horses, known to be a picky eater, doesn't hesitate to wolf these down. They smell good (to humans at least!). We consider this to be another great SmartPak product.

The horse I wanted to try this supplement with, readily ate the pellets when I top dressed his soaked beet pulp with them. That is one big hurdle for many horses, but first time he went right for them. He showed no ill effects from the supplement. This horse has made huge gains in his confidence, but one area we have worked on a lot but he still shows nervousness is riding out alone. I am hoping this supplement will take a little of the edge off and we can break through that last piece of training. Unfortunately, I hurt my back a few weeks ago and have needed to back off riding. Next spring, I will use this supplement when we resume riding and report back.I greatly appreciate that this supplement contains nothing that will induce sedation. The level of magnesium is reasonable, considering a mature horse needs between 7.5 and 15g of magnesium per day, depending on exercise level. The 5g (5000 mg) found in this supplement is reasonable. Inositol is found in most cells in a horse's body. It is thought to regulate serotonin, help with insulin sensitivity, benefit hoof health, and regulate reproductive hormones, among other roles. It is a natural compound. Taurine and thiamine also play crucial roles in the nervous system. SmartPak is a well-trusted source of horse supplements. I reviewed both the research and reviews from others sites. Due to the positive nature of both science and individual's experiences, I felt confident this was a safe supplement to use and decided to order it.

We have a couple of issues making our horses nervous. First, we have construction going on right next to their pasture. Second, they get anxious when we don't ride them all together. They have been edgy and easily spooked. To combat this, we ordered these pellets. We use many Smartpak supplements, so we were confident in their products.First, they have not had any trouble eating them even though they've not been sweetened with sugar or molasses. Second, we have noticed a decrease in random galloping, pacing, pawing, and whinnying. As long as the construction is happening, we will continue to put these in their feed.
