This is my Third order of these. Out of the first two orders I have only confirmed One failed disk. I think there may have been two, but if there was I did not keep the disk (for reference purposes). That is an overall failure rate of at most 2 percent - which is very good compared to another brand I have used in the past. (I won't name that brand of disks, but they were unbranded silver tops. Silver tops do not burn well for some reason.)As far as long term archival goes it is too early to know. I have had ordinary CD's that still read good after as long as 20+ years with proper storage and care. So I expect these should do as well.The price for these is very good.The only thing or two I do not like about these is the little icon at the top of the disk (the little apple man, or whatever that is). Also, they have a noticeable (but not unpleasant) smell that I have not noticed with other brands of BD-R. But that is just me being picky, and not enough of a reason to rate these BD-R less than they deserve.

I might have had one coaster out of this pack and have purchased more with either no or 1 coaster per. And I don't even know if it was the disc that was not working or if the computer that the burner was attached to was being obnoxious and refusing to format. Did try on another computer with same result. Cost effective storage for things that don't need to be accessed very often.

I've run through 100 of these now, backing up old VHS transfers, pictures and movies, only one disc has faulted and become unusable. Also a positive that these are the cheapest for this volume of discs. I've ordered more and will continue to use this brand for the future.I must have received a bad batch on the last shipment, roughly 25% defect rate. knocking off one star.
