I installed this the other day and was amazed how this thing works. the instruction guide was easy to follow, and with basic tools, installation was straightforward. Once it was setup, I was able to see the electricity usage throughout our home. So far the monitor lets us track energy usage in all the rooms and appliances in the house. it helped me relize that the little loads like chargers, that are on amount to more energy usage than some of the appliances in the house. For Example, I found out that a laptop charger that i usually leave plugged in was pulling a nice amount of power, even though it was unused. So far i am very happy how well this works, and provides valuable insights into what's using your power.

• Solid Performance: The Refoss Smart Home Energy Monitor delivers reliable, accurate energy consumption tracking, offering detailed real-time data that helps you understand your home’s electricity usage.• User Experience: In my experience, the device itself works very well and provides useful insights for managing energy use, making it a strong choice for those who value precision.• Home Assistant Integration Challenges: Despite its excellent performance, I couldn’t get Home Assistant to work with it. This is a notable drawback if you’re planning to integrate your smart home devices seamlessly.• Mandatory Professional Installation: The installation instructions are exceptionally clear: you must hire a licensed professional. This not only increases the overall expense but also adds extra time to the installation process.• Overall Verdict: If you’re after a dependable energy monitoring solution and are comfortable with the additional cost and effort for professional installation, this is a great device. However, if Home Assistant integration is a priority, you need to be aware that it might be a little tricky to set up.Last Note:The pictures I've added show one of the very strong recommendations not to install it yourself. I didn't realize how complex this would be. I also wanted to show how sleek that packaging and design were. The orange is nice since it's easy to identify all the other wires in the electric panel.Update:Customer service was helpful and gave me further instructions to set up home assistant. I'm adding an additional star due to great customer service. They informed me that most people are able to install it by themselves. I unfortunately was too intimidated by all of the warnings to not install yourself and hire a professional. Honestly must have been a CYA kind of thing.Anyways, just understand what you're getting yourself into when doing this!

You never know which sensors will need to be flipped and which won't. The indicator serves no purpose as you'll have to trial and error this flipping when the values show negative. This caused a extensive install on the first one but the second one we installed we set the unit up on a table and tested each sensor and marked it before taking it to the garage to install and were done in 20 minutes (no counting the 10-15 minutes to test each sensor). No regrets at all. Wish there was a way of connecting two units or an expansion hub as 16 sensors weren't enough. Also I'm not sure if two probes can be tethered together in the app for when running a 220 with 2x110 breakers, or maybe there's a better way that I'm not aware of.It's ability to work with Home Assistant without needing to flash custome firmware was the biggest selling point along with the price and availability.

I decided to replace another model that was having WiFi issues with this new one. This one was able to read twice as many and is more accurate than the version 1 of the other model I was using. My system is a two phase, three wire 200 Amp.Install was as expected. I have a flush mount box and my mains run in at the bottom unlike most that come in at the top, so extra caution was needed. Since it was flush I just bend the cover panel a little to run the antenna wire to the top. This almost fit on top for me, but I needed a little more room so I did knock out a section in the box to fit the power cable up into the whole. The clamps are a little smaller than my last one I was using, and that was a good thing.I compared measurement to the history of the other system and my fluke clamp and it was very accurate. It has voltage since wires to measure each main leg for better accuracy if you panel might be slightly imbalanced. When changing the multiplayer in the app for a single clamp on a double pole 240 breaker it will only show double the wattage over all being measured, the amperage and voltage still show singular. I have mentioned this to the company and believe they might be correcting this in the app. But in the end, it’s the over all wattage that I want to see anyway.TIP: Plan ahead, read the instructions on how the clamps get installed since they correspond with the voltage sense wires. The small clamps can measure 60 Amps so you can use just one on a 240 double pole breaker and multiply the wattage in the app changing it from 1 to 2.Plan it out before the install as you can see I did in the one picture with the old system still installed.Make sure the arrow is pointing to the breaker when installing the clamps also so it doesn’t read it backwards.Remember the lugs under the main break are still I’ve and take all needed safety precautions. If you dont feel conformable installing something like this then have an electrician do it.
