This clamp is good quality and actually pretty useful. You will most likely find something to pair it with. I have used it with lights and tripods. It's certainly on the heavy side but gives you confidence that it will hold your expensive gear. Even if you don't use it very often, I think this is a good tool to have in the bag for the times you do need it. You can also run a monitor off a flex-arm with the 1/4-20" threads. It's versatile and I recommend getting one.

I have the same type of clip but from a more expensive manufacturer. I don’t think there is any difference in their quality. This piece works well and therefore why would I pay more… I would buy it again.

I use a super clamp when I'm doing photography work with my c-stand arm and a Godox AD 600 Pro. The strobe unit is quite heavy so I use the extension head and use this super clamp to attach the strobe body to the c-stand vertical shaft. It drastically reduces the weight on the arm and the weight on the shaft provides a lot of stability to the stand itself. There is a lot to like in this clamp from SmallRig, but I do have a couple of small complaints. I own a few SmallRig items and, like this one, they are all well made and reasonably priced. This is a heavy-duty clamp and I think it will work well for a wide variety or purposes. I like that it came with a small wedge you can place in the v-groove that allows the clamp to be used on a flat surface like a desk. I wish there was some way to better store that wedge on the clamp because it can be easily lost. It comes attached to the screw that holds in the stud, but you can't tighten that down with the wedge stored there. My other complaint is that it didn't come with any instructions. The basic use of it is obvious, but maybe there is a trick with the wedge and I just don't know it. It also came with 4 screws that I assume are used on the threaded holes on the back of the clamp, but again I don't have any more information. Those are minor complaints and overall I'm very happy with this super clamp and given the high quality I expect to be using it for many years to come.

Using with Impact Varipole. Works great. Can be used to hand lights, mics, cameras. Holds a lot of weight and clamps down tight. Would be great if there was a way to make the metal adapter head pin vertical. When you use a stand adapter with an elbow joint it rotates/turns under weight, so you end up having to mount lights horizontally and then angling them up. But all in all these are great. Very well made and super useful.

I built my own copy stand to do macro photography after watching videos and researching online I bought this and it’s perfect. Easily adjustable and with this purchase and materials I had I made a copy stand for around $40 can’t beat that compared to the ones I had my eye on ranging from $150-$1200.

The clamp itself is very well made and seemed a good alternative to the more expensive clamp than I was going to get as you got the threaded mount pin included with this. The only possible negative is that I find the pin impossible to tighten securely to the tripod head that I have, despite it being the correct thread.

This is an ideal product for my small photo/video studio. With very little floor space, I've avoided using light stands and opted for wall mounted options instead. With this clever clamp from SmallRig allows me to add another light mount to an existing pole, negating any need for an additional light stand.I also added a small ball head and used the clamp to attach a GoPro for a fun view. A ball head is sort of a necessary addition if you plan to use this clamp for cameras, depending on the angle of the pole or surface you're clamping to. In my case with the pole coming out of the wall at odd angles, a ball head of some sort is really needed, but is an easy fix.The clamp is secure and holds well. It's all setup with a standard light stand adapter, but it has threads on both sides if you want to mount something via the threads, as I did with the tiny ball head. But for a light, no adapters are needed. I can see using this clamp to add another light to an existing light pole for extra lumens or to mount a snoot or some other modifier.I mentioned that the design is clever, which I find many products from SmallRig have clever and unique designs without being expensive. As with other SmallRig accessories, this mount is well made and priced reasonably. For my small space, this is a fantastic addition and will be well used.
