My husband has used it to do various repairs in pools and it works perfect for that. The quality seems really good and it all works fine. There haven't been any leaks so far. Pumping it up does take a while though. My kids think it is really fun too to use in the pool. It doesn't last forevee but it sure beats holding your breath!

I ordered this a while ago and really wanted to give it some time before writing a review. This is the real thing, and has everything needed to SCUBA. Depending on the depth and breathing rate you can for sure spend enough down to possibly get hurt.I cannot stress enough, this should only be used by certified divers because you really can get hurt if you don't follow several laws of physics. With that being said, this is a very useful tool for diving and can be used as a last resort safety tank. The pump deserves mentioning too because it's a very nicely make piece of equipment. I was actually very interested in the getting the pump, hoping I could fill other brand's mini tanks, but the fittings aren't compatible. As I've found though, the pump takes forever to pump it up, where it could take 30min of hard work, all for 5-10 min bottom time so I've decided to just take them to the dive shop to be filled with the rest of my tanks.

First thing's first...when you get this, you'll have to spend about 10 or 15 minutes taking the bottom of the pump apart to clean the check valve, as it becomes totally filled and gummed up with silicone lube. Once you get that all cleaned out and back together, everything assembles pretty easily and works pretty well.I'm still working on pumping it totally up. I pump it for about 5 minutes, then I take a little break. It'll probably take you 1/2 an hour (or longer) to pump this up to pressure, because it's an exhaustive workout pumping this up. 100% a great upper body / cardio workout that no home gym should be without. No, it really is a high-stress exercise and can really get your heart pumping. But so far, it's building (and holding) pressure and the regulator works to take regular breaths from, so...so far, so good. The overall quality of everything, from the pump to the tank to the reg, is all very good. I saw nothing that made me pause. I intend to keep this on hand for emergencies. It not only works for scuba / snorkel diving, but you can also use something like this to escape a burning building when the smoke could otherwise overcome you. So there are a few potential uses for this. The only reason I took a star off is the instructions for everything, especially the pump, are a little rough. For instance, it tells you to clean the check valve, but no detailed instructions like, how far do you screw it down, maybe be careful of springs shooting pieces, the instructions are very sparse. Not beyond being able to be figured out, but something like this should have very clear and detailed instructions, even for the hand pump. The one thing I did find nice was the inclusion of spares of pretty much every o-ring and seal in the entire device. This is really handy, if you've worked with high pressure setups like this (such as with paintball guns or pcp air rifles) then you know that these items are common maintenance items, and it's nice to see them included.I had no problems with any of the connectors or connections, everything works properly and nothing leaks...at least so far. Usually the procedure is to pump up something like this and let it sit for 7 days to check for air leakage. So I'm early into that procedure, as I'm not even yet done filling it (lol). But if it fails a long-term leak test, I'll report back. 4 stars for a very handy device.

This portable air tank and pump seem like a great idea. Packaging was nice, and it looks very durable. (BIG) problem is that you need to put it together with the most cryptic, and incomplete instructions known to mankind. There are several instruction booklets/cards, but none of them explain how anything goes together. At ALL! If a Chinese company is going to market this to US consumers, the install/assembly instructions need to be written by an American. Everything is lost in their translation. And what isn't lost, is just missing. I tried my best to put it all together (and I feel that I'm fairly intelligent), and I had about 25 extra pieces. Most of which were rubber gaskets. I trust that I won't need those while 30 feet under the sea. There were knobs, and a spring, and numerous other pieces. Maybe they are supposed to be replacement parts, but nowhere does it say that. There was also something that could possibly be a charcoal filter, or maybe a contraband pot-smoking device, but how would I know.Once (I think) I got it together, I tried to use the hand (bicycle) pump to fill it up. The instructions say not to fill it over 3000psi. I managed to get it to about 500psi after about 15 minutes of pumping, and nearly having a cardiac arrest, and blowing a nut. It does say that you can use an electric pump to fill it, but the connection on the tank is a different size than I have on my air compressor. I'll have to look for a connection that fits. Maybe on my next trip bo Beijing.I think that I may try this in the bathtub or shower before going to meet Dory.

This mini scuba tank comes in a nicely packaged box and it includes and air pump, lanyard, 0.5L tank, regulator, tank fill adaptor and various service parts and O-rings. The entire unit looks to be well constructed. I have not yet had a chance to use it underwater, but I did fill it with the included pump to about 1000psi just to test for leaks, etc. I did not see any issues. I definitely will not be using the pump to fill this tank unless I feel like getting a 30 min workout for 6 minutes of air. I'll fill it with a scuba tank or possibly break down and purchase a compressor since I have a few of these mini-air tanks. It does come with an adapter so that you can fill it with a scuba tank.I plan to use this as a backup when I dive. It does say it will only work to 100 ft (the ad says 30 ft, but maybe they meant meters?). I suspect there would be a very low bottom time the deeper you go.Overall I think that his is a great, well made, tank. I do recommend that you buy this only if you are a certified diver as you can really hurt yourself.Recommended!
