I first bought this to help my grandchildren to do homework while visiting us. Then they began to build their legos on it and using it as tv trays. Next thing I know is I am enjoying the space saving and the functionality of a portable laptop desk. The cup holder helps with less spills. The height is perfect for reading a book in bed or favorite chair. I got different colors for each of the 4 grandchildren. The quality and looks help with slide resistance. The pencil holder and the usb connections help with my office work

Comes completely assembled right out of box. Nice and sturdy, and good size. Plenty of room for laptop and work pad. Cup holder nice, but only fits a smaller cup, like Starbucks coffee cups (just forget about a regular coffee mug). Cup holder approximately two inches deep. Pen holder nice, but only fits regular straight pens/or pencils. Think of the Bic pens or Papermate pens from school. Anything wider will not fit. Can definitely put your cell phone (without a pop socket) in the narrow open space next to pen holder, but it’s not very deep (approximately quarter inch). A wider pen will fit there. It’s lightweight, and surface is hard plastic. The fold out legs do come with foamed corners, which is nice. Only design flaw is you cannot adjust the legs up or down for height once unfolded. Other than that, it’s good deal for price. It shipped quickly and well packaged.

For 40$ I was expecting a bit more from the design. The legs aren't adjustable so if it sits too high, too bad. USB cord is rather short and my outlet is right next to my bed. I'm using this from bed due to disability, and wanted something for my laptop that had a better surface for a mouse and ventilation. While it succeeds at the latter obviously, I wouldn't say it does well at the former. Firstly, that is bad, BAD placement and design for a cup holder. People are typically going to be using this surface for either their expensive electronics like a laptop or tablet, or paper. There is nowhere near enough space for a regular sized computer mouse (not those tiny little 5$ ones) to move without worry you;re going to bump whatever is in the drink holder. The holder itself is too shallow for my tall plastic cups, and for whatever reason my coffee mugs (the kind that are narrower at the bottom) do not fit with any degree of stability. So... what are you supposed to use the cup holder for? I'd say the design of that feature alone loses an entire star. The overall size of this thing really could be increased slightly while still being light and functional. I have an ASUS Zenbook Flip 15 and it takes up most of the space not used up by the other features and my mouse. If you have one of those big gaming laptops, I'd say avoid this. The edges are hard angles like a school desk, which if you are using this for a laptop, mean that's what your wrist or inner forearm are going to be resting against, which could lead to health problems like carpel tunnel or just pain, so if you can, it might be good to get some stick-on padding. Overall the sturdiness is pretty solid, and it's not a total fail for its purpose, just some critical design flaws.
