Good bells, not as full of a sound as I was hoping for.

Our family does Christmas carols and uses to use a tambourine. It’s not the same so we decided to add this to the ensemble. It was a great addition.

Now that my jingle bells are safely put away until after Thanksgiving I can step back and say that they are really fine! They're affixed to a real wood handle not some flimsy piece of decorative felt. So when you want to hear those "sleigh bells ring" you can play these in time with the beat. They're a little pricey but I'm super confident when I get in front of an audience I'll be able to ring out the holiday spirit!

Sound is excellent. It's not super loud, but as loud as you would expect. I got this for a Christmas party so we could add some jingly acoustics to our merry carol singing. However, we didn't end up using it because caroling didn't go as expected (very few people singing because the kids were running around and wrecking havoc during the music, so it became pointless to try to have a thoughtful singing time). I would recommend it though if you can actually get all your friends and family to sit down for a sing-a-long!

So my friends and I started running some trolley pub crawls during the Christmas season and we needed some way to alert people when it was time to leave the bar, hence the need for some bells. I went out shopping for supplies one day with my friend, Mike with the hair. We call him "Mike with the hair" because he obviously has a distinctive hair style that he maintains with sea salt. In fact, his style is so distinctive that he convinced another friend of mine (Jeff with the eye lashes) to also get in on the sea salt game. You see, my friends are highly open to suggestion. For instance, I got a leather-ish coat once and everyone complimented me the first time I wore it. A week or so later, my friend Dennis went to the mall with Mike with the hair and Handlebar Tom, and they all saw a leather coat that resembled mine. Although he was full of it, Mike with the hair persuaded Dennis that if Dennis didn't buy the coat he would. Dennis being Dennis dropped the money on the coat out of a fear of missing out (i.e. "FOMO"). Unfortunately for Dennis, once everyone saw him wearing the coat next to me, he got roasted so bad that he returned the coat the next day. I digress; back to the bells. So Mike with the hair and I are walking around looking for bells the day of our first trolley tour. The best we could find was some weird solo bell that doubled as either a butt plug or wine bottle cap, not sure which. Either way, it was weak and ineffective - I blame Mike with the hair for not recommending something else. After being chastised by our "friends," I decided I needed to upgrade our bell game. Enter, the Jingle Bells. They worked rather well, aside from the fact the little bells fall off to easily on account of being glued. Even though the functionality is questionable, I am giving 5 stars on account of the fact the bells can double as a weapon should anyone step out of line.P.S. Dennis saw the review and got a bit salty. He wanted to let it be known that it was in fact Slick Rick, and not Handlebar Tom that advised him to get the coat in conjunction with Mike with the hair. He attributes my mistake to me being "old and dull." So apparently Dennis follows the fashion trends of old and dull people....either that or his FOMO is greater than we ever imagined.

For anyone expecting a big professional-like percussion bell stick, please remember...you get what you pay for. These are by no means heavy duty bells, or really large...however, these are great for small time music venues, like your kids' Xmas programs, etc. I have a daughter that plays the harp, and is part of a local harp ensemble. We used these bells in their Xmas performance, on Rudolph, Sleighride, and Snow Daze. They added SO MUCH, and were not overpowering. The price is barely more, then you would pay for a toy. I think they were totally worth the price, and we are happy with it. We will use these several times in the following weeks, and again next year.

This is an adequate percussion piece of limited utility. Got it for playing Springsteen's version of "Santa Claus is Coming to Town". The bells are smaller than real horse drawn sleigh bells, so the pitch is higher and thinner. Best use came on Christmas Eve. After explaining to my grandson that Santa would not stop at the house unless he and his brother were in bed, I went to the far end of the house and shook the bells. His eyes got wide and he took off for the bedroom like a scalded cat!

I LOVED these. I purchased them on a whim for no reason really. When they arrived it reminded me of The Night Before Christmas. They were a hit with all the kids that came over during the holidays. It was super cute to see the look on their face when I told them they were the same bells Santa has on his sleigh. Also fun for kids if there is someone in the family who plays an insturant that plays Christmas songs. It is very easy for them to play along and feel like they're in the band.
