Needed this to repair an obsolete control board in our 8 year old dryer. Saved the cost of a new appliance. Works perfectly.

Our 7-year-old Maytag dryer wouldn't start. I read the trouble codes and found that the control circuit board was faulty. What the heck?? The board cost around $350!! So, I went on YouTube and found a common cause for this board to fail: This RELAY!! I ordered one from Amazon, got it in two days, and repaired the circuit board. Total cost about $9 and an hour or so of work. You'll need basic soldering skills, but a $340-ish saving is well worth it. You can generally tell if it's this relay by looking at the back of the circuit board for a burned spot (see photos).

My mother board blew this part, I was nervous to install and thought I'd give it a try. The cost was effective and allowed me to gain the confidence to even try the install. It was easy and I am impressed with the part that it worked and me!

The new control board would have cost over $400. A new Dryer would cost over $800. With this little relay and a $20 soldering iron, my dryer is working again! More people should learn to repair their items, or at least try.If the appliance is already broken, you have nothing to lose, right? YouTube had detailed instructions on how to disassemble the dryer. Guessing it was a damaged relay was the hardest part of the whole process!
