About this item

  • [High Accuracy] RPlidar A2M12 has a sampling rate of 16000 times/s. In addition, The lidar ranging distance can reach up to 12 meters Based on white objects with 80% reflectivity,so it can collect environmental information at a rather higher speed and accuracy than RPlidar A1M8, ensure a real-time performance.
  • [360 Degree 2D Scanning] The ranging core of RPLIDAR A2M12 rotates clockwise, performs 360 degree 2D omnidirectional lidar range scan on the surrounding environment, and generates an outline map. configurable scan rate from 5~15Hz, Typical 10Hz
  • [Plug and Play] With the 3 feature: Build-in Serial Port and USB Interface, Open Source SDK and Tools and Integration with ROS, Just connecting the RPLIDAR and a computer via a micro USB cable, users can use the RPLIDAR without any coding job.
  • [OPTMAG technology] which repairs electrical connection errors due to physical wear and prolong the life-span;High-speed RPVision Range Engine: RPVision 2.0.
  • [High Security] A low-power infrared lidar is used as the emission light source, and is driven by a modulated pulse mode, which meets the Class 1 safety standard and reaches the human eye safety level.
  • [Application scenario] General Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (SLAM); Environment Scanning and 3D Reconstruction; Navigation and Localization of Home Care/Cleaning Robots; General Robot Navigation and Localization; Smart Toys Localization and Obstacle Detection.

near impossible to get this thing set up. I have to download wechat? Wechat wants me to enter a credit card? I already bought this? card flags it as a scam, won't let me create a wechat account until I have some wechat user of over 6 months scan for me. Who tf knows somebody with wechat? The website doesn't work on desktop either. Wants me to login but won't let me create an account. I guess I have to return this because this is total nonsense

The product is very good, as I thought it would be, and as described. The documentation was very good and enabled me to find information quickly. For a SLAM novice's perspective, it will be great for getting you up to speed and you'll find yourself needing to do a lot of research and fiddling, which made it very interesting and passionate for me.

I am having trouble uploading a video, but this one has been working for the last 6 months without any issues. It was for my brother's robot, and this allows his robot to map efficiently and accurately by scanning its surroundings quickly. Compared to the one he used before this, it operates more smoothly with less noise. It also seems quite durable considering it's been already 6 months, but if any issues arise down the road, I will edit my review (and try to post the video again later)

I had one of these before, then bought this A12 version thinking it would be easier to use. The cheaper A1 version barely worked with Robostudio. It really was hit or miss as to whether the robostudio would actually detect the LIDAR device connected to the computer directly through USB and 5VDC power. Same problem here with this newer (more advanced.. version). Cool idea, but sucks spending several hundred $$ to drive yourself crazy after downloading the specific drivers, UI, SDK, etc. Nothing cohesive. I dont even want to try to control on serial with arduino if the USB interface doesnt even work! Also, cant even download plugins with the registered robostudio account. Stay away.
