Everything else is great about this case, but the molded space for the bottom joint isn't quite long enough. I had to use a hammer to beat down the Styrofoam and it's still not great.

The case received is completely different from that described and pictured. Feels like cardboard and covered in imitation leather, as well as being a different shape with different catches etc. Returning for a refund.

It's molded to fit and protects the instrument. The only downside is the latches can be stiff to open and the child in the house likes to jam things in the case all willynilly making it jam easier.Update: It’s now December 2017 and she has dropped it. She claims “It was only once Ma!” but I know her games. It may have been once down four flights of stairs or once every day this year. The case has finally chipped BUT it still closes and all pieces are intact. Definitely upgraded this from 3 to 4 stars.

I needed a compact case to slip into the outer pocket of my sax case and this was perfect. It's a hardshell case so the clarinet is protected yet it is very lightweight.

The case isn't sized for all clarinets. I wished the description gave a list for what clarinets are suitable for this item.
