The hats just slide right off, it's really annoying. It looks great, but don't breathe too hard nearby or they will just fall off.

Very happy with this wall hanger.I am using it to hang all of my bags on, it is strongenough for this purpose and enables me to literally have them to handrather than having them dumped together in a huge plastic bag.I do have quite a few bags ( as my husband pointed out as he was installing the rack !!!! )

It’s a nice rack, but I agree with another reviewer that the small metal hooks it comes with are not ideal. It would be better to remove the metal hooks and mount it flush to the wall. If you’re hanging hats or jewelry or even light scarves or shirts, then you could use 3M Command Large Picture Hanging Strips. Each pair holds 4 lbs, and the rack I got can have up to 18 pairs (3 on each slat), so that would be 72 lbs total across the rack. That would be a lot of strips to mount, though. 4 or 8 pairs would be a little more feasible. Another solution that would be more robust is to drill holes in the rack itself and use plastic covers to hide the screws. I decided to use black covers for contrast, and in spots where I didn’t need a screw, I used thumbtacks to attach the covers. There are a couple of defects in the wood, and a couple of slats are warped. I ended up using an extra screw or two to make it more flush against the wall. For the price, though, it’s a pretty good rack.
