We use this rig with a few Hyperdecks and a switch. It's very good for travelling light with gear that you need to protect. The side holes for cables I wish we're slightly moved because sometimes with panels/trays it can be difficult to move larger cables like HDMI but managed in any case. The top compartment for laptops is also very useful for travelling. After buying this we also decided on the larger 4U SKB.

For a moulded plastic case, I’m surprised how expensive it is. I’ve been using this for a while now. I’m using it as a mobile recording rig. With a Macbook and rack mounted audio interface and expansion. It’s compact… but pretty heavy when empty. The 2RU rack mount area is quite tight. If you need to access the back of your rack mounted gear, it might be difficult in a hurry. Ive put in a short, permanently cabled-in xlr loom to get around this. But rolling it up and packing it away in the space provided makes it difficult to get the case sides back on. Just a little more room would be awesome, I think. I haven’t flown with this, but I don’t know if I would be very comfortable checking this in. All in all, a bit disappointed with this product. It’s expensive, it’s heavy, and the rack space is pretty tight with the gear I am using.

Great case. We use this for a fly rig so our play back never goes underneath the plane, always carry on. We house two Mac minis in the top area and two rack units below with cables in the back. Works great and not super heavy.

This is an unusual case that fit a use for me really well. I did pull one star because the price is really steep for this case. I have a ton of pelican cases. I am used to spending a lot of money on plastic cases but this case doesn't seem near as durable as a pelican case. With that said, this case wont see much hard road use. I use it as a tether station for my photo business. The laptop sit on top and I have power conditioner in one space and then a few hdmi wireless transmitters in the other space. The little pockets and storage areas are really useful as well. The case does seem well built but a little fragile at the same time. One reviewer mentioned that it would be nice if the top could come off to be able setup some things inside. I discovered that it does. There are 3 screws on each end that can come out. Once they are out, the top easily lifts off. This was really helpful to route wires. For my use, I would certainly buy this case again if I need another tether station.

Can't believe I didn't know about these sooner. Now I wish I got the 4U size

This case has been a reliable companion for me as a touring musician. Unfortunately the wheels are of little use to me because the handle is so short, I can't properly drag it but have to carry it around. I wish they made it longer or adjustable.

In love with it, it would be better if it would have more space in both sides, but works for me

I give the case three-stars because it's a handy case with nice features, but I would absolutely not recommend it for flying.I make a roundtrip flight about once a week with an Orange OB1-500 2U bass amp. One side of the rack mount shattered after 6 flights; the other side went after maybe 20 or so additional flights. If you are looking for a way to fly with your gear, the best solution I've found is a standard suitcase lined with a couple pillows and possibly some resistance exercise bands. It will make it easier for TSA to search the unit (they apparently take my bass amp apart each flight), and it will withstand being thrown and dropped much better. From what I've seen, we have to accept that baggage handlers may toss your gear a foot or two into the baggage "train", banging it against the wall of the train if your bag happens to be one of the first off; and bags occasionally fall off the loading ramp when coming off aircraft, going about 2-3 feet before hitting the ground. The added benefit of taking a standard suitcase with pillows and exercise bands are the following:- you have a lot more space for cables and other gear,- you get to sleep on your own pillows at the hotel,- and you can stay reasonably fit with the exercise bands.I'm happy to answer any questions you may have.

This case is GREAT for what I am using it for. I currently use this case at church for MIDI keys. I simply place the box on the top tier of my keyboard rack and run a Focusrite Clarett for my audio interface. This case is great for organizing cables and giving the setup a clean look. The laptop clips are secured by Velcro and can be difficult to get just right, but nothing too problematic.
