Is the SkateRanger ICE XL tall enough for me?
This is one of the most common questions we receive!
The image to the left is shown only as a visual reference of a 5’-10” individual (on skates) next to the SkateRanger ICE XL. The product-to-human scale may not be exactly precise although we're trying to provide a very close comparison.
In addition, everyone's situation is different based on the height of the blade, blade holder and footplate.
It should be noted that if you find the SkaterAid ICE XL to be too tall for you, the three vertical PVC pipe supports can always be shortened with a hacksaw and positioned to the height that's most comfortable for you on the ice.

ICE feet to Roller Wheel Kit - SOLD SEPARATELY
- Sold as an accessory to our ICE series of SkateRangers.
- Everything you need to turn your Karben Sports SkateRanger ICE skating trainer into a roller skating trainer.
- Kit (sold separately) includes: Three 3” caster wheels (same wheels we use for roller models), three caster insert fittings and three self-tapping screws.
- Less than a 5-minute transformation: remove the ICE feet, plug each of the caster inserts in the open fittings, use a drill-driver to secure in place (with the self-tapping screws) then push in each of the wheels into place.
Less than 10 min. assembly
Each SkateRanger ICE XL is partially assembled out of the box to help make the final assembly a breeze. With the use of a mallet (even the heel of a boot can work!) and securing the included fasteners you're up and roller skating!
Tough as nails!
Karben sources U.S. produced structural-grade PVC (sometimes called furniture grade) for all of its products. Unlike big-box store bought "plumbing grade" PVC, structural grade is substantially stronger and crack resistant.
Resists UV light damage
One of the many benefits of structural-grade PVC is its ability to resists fading, or yellowing, of the plastic in direct sunlight. This UV resistance helps keep the material looking like the day you bought it for years to come.

Absolutely amazing! If you are an adult or a taller child, as long as you have basic bone strength and fitness (you don't have to be super athletic), this should work for you. It is a brilliant design that you might have to try to believe. It allowed me to sail around the rink like I always wanted to do, but never seemed to have the confidence and/or stability. With this trainer, I could forget all my worries and just have the best skate ever! Also, I think if I keep using it, I will just get stronger and stronger and maybe eventually not need it. But even if I keep using it forever, who cares? It was no trouble at the rink, super easy to maneuver, easy to get into the back seat of my small car, light and easy to carry on my shoulder from car to rink, etc. Just amazing. And the customer service is absolutely outstanding. My guess is, as people start finding out how great this thing is, rinks will have them lined up like shopping carts in a grocery store for people to just grab and use. I imagine it would work great for young children too, but I only tested it on myself.

I ordered the XL ice skate trainer. As a grandmother I need support while I skate with my grandkids. This is a solid frame that supports me with confidence! It is a little big for travel and when I called customer service Mike told me I could return it and they would make me a custom size and even sent me a return slip for my return. I am looking forward to getting back on the ice. I will send business Karben's way so folks can get off leaning on those crates and skate in good form. Thank you Mike!

This is a great product. As a beginner it helped me build up leg strength, balance and basic stride. Now I use it to help develop intermediate moves like backwards skating etc. I'm 64 and I use it to warm up with speed and power strides.It has helped me progress much faster without any injuries. I can't imagine trying to learn without it.

This ice skating glider is great for those of us (older adults) who want to ice skate again. It's a real confidence builder if your skills are rusty and you're afraid of falling. I love it!
