The mallets chip and splinter. My son got a splinter from the handle putting it together before ever using it. Then the first time we used it, the mallet heads immediately started to chip and crack with each use. Also, every time you hit a ball, it leaves an indentation in the ball. The wickets are far too short and are a brassy color that make them very hard to see. The zipper on the carrying/storage case catches on nothing and seems destined to break any minute. Aesthetically, it’s nice, but the quality is poo poo.

It’s all very durable and well-made. I wish the hoops were a little sturdier and longer so they could be pushed into the ground deeper.

The kids and I had a blast playing. The balls and mallets get pretty dinged up, but seem durable. It was super easy to put together and I did not have to unscrew the mallets to fit them in the included bag; it's definitely a good size. I appreciated that they included instructions of how to play and set up. It's a really simple, fun game if you are looking for something different.Overall, it's a premium and quality croquet set.

When I was younger and my family got together for any reason at my grandma's, we'd all play croquet. I hadn't thought about it in years before I came across this set.It's definitely on the pricier side for a lawn game, I would've expected something closer to $40-50, but it does hold some sentimental value for me, and this particular one appears to be made out of quality materials.The mallets seem fairly sturdy. As you can see from the picture they come in 2 pieces and you have to screw the bottom into the handle. It's an easy task and took all of 5 minutes to put them together. That's really the only assembly required.The balls are solid, I believe some kind of hard rubber, and have weight to them to keep from flying across the yard while playing. If you've never played before, each ball is color coordinated with a mallet for each player (up to 6 players). All of the colors match as they should and it's simple to tell which ball goes with which mallet.The stakes (idk what else to call them, I'm sure they have an official name) are fairly thick wire that I don't believe will bend or lose shape too quickly. I just used one of the mallets to place them in the harder packed areas of my yard, otherwise they went into the ground fairly easily.The set comes with a storage/carrying bag so everything can be neatly put away when not in use. The bag is roomy enough you don't have to play tetris to make everything fit, but not so bulky that it won't store easily.I also appreciate that it came with written and picture instructions. I know most things can be easily googled nowadays, but it's nice not to have to search. There's even picture instructions on where to place the stakes for a classic croquet game.I love this set, I'm thrilled to share a childhood game with my kids. Especially one that gets us all up, moving and out of the house.

When I was little, some of my most fond memories are playing croquet with my grandparents, great-aunts and uncles and siblings.With most of them having passed and now with a family of my own, I've been looking for a new set to make some of those memories with my children.I've looked at several similar sets as these in-person and online but most felt pretty cheap and like they'd break after a year or so. These don't. They're very well- made and the case to keep them in is nice.I can't wait to to gather up some family and the kids and play this weekend!! Great value for the money and would 100% order again!
