This was literally the only dash kit I could find for a 2002 Mercury Sable. That being said, if I wanted anything better than an fm transmitter, I had to go with something. So I got this.. semi-easy to install once you figure it out. Comes with no instructions. There's also no mention that you have to manually remove the mechanical parts that house the controls for the ac/heat and manually place them into the new dash kit yourself. For the outrageous price, I assumed it 'came' with such things.I would definitely return if I wanted to undo everything I've already done. Although I may in the end, because now my heat only blows from the fans by the window. The switch turns that on and off, but if I want to blow heat at me or my feet, or even the rear heat, none of that works. This company kinda screwed me in the end.

I tried putting this dash kit into a 2004 Ford Taurus SE, and because it did not come with a resistor, the airbag light came on as soon as I started the car after wiring everything up. The wires behind the climate control knobs we’re also directly in the way, so I had to move the wires in order to successfully install the OEM knobs into the kit. Radio also did not illuminate when vehicle lights were on. Wired everything exactly as instructed.

Absolutely awesome product. Came with all the necessary wiring for a full basic install. Took me about an hour in total and I've never done this before. As other reviews mentioned, the HVAC wiring is glued in a strange spot, but it peels up and off the wiring easily. The whole thing is fairly sturdy and fits in my dash like a glove. The stereo I bought fit loosely in the slot(does NOT seem to be a common problem), but I was able to stabilize it by dremeling the DIN trim piece a little wider.

You HAVE to HAVE a IQ OVER 70 to install this dash kit.The amount of complaints on this product was scaring me, when it was in route, but when I got it, I remembered a valuable thing: joe blow next door is usually retarded, why listen to him?The product, if you are not burnt out, or born mentally challenged, is fairly easy to put together. Doesn’t look too cheap, except maybe the LED’s, but I got used to it.Re-defrost works, and is really easy to install... so to the tards who couldn’t figured it out, take it to a shop and get ripped off please.

1. The wires are stuck with glue which you need to remove inorder to connect knobs.2. To do the final attachment, *you need to remove the metal piece from your older system and attach it to the plastic.*3. In my case, 1st time one side plastic stand was broken and second time it was loose. So I ended up using super glue and duct tape on stand. I was to bored to reorder another one.

Ok I'm going to set the record straight I have a 99 Ford Taurus SE and I also have a 05 Taurus SE and in the 99 Taurus I used a metra dash kit and in the 05 I used this kit. I took pictures of both kits and you can plainly see by the pictures that this kit is completely and unquestionably better than Metra by far and any of these people on here that are crying and whining about how this kit doesn't work for this or that they are idiots and they don't know anything about installation so they should just leave it to the people that do. I had no problem whatsoever putting in this kit but the Metra one was a pain in the ass it is worthless and it still has a gap where I would have to cut into my dash in order for it to fit properly. I didn't have to do anything with this one other than slip it in so these idiots that are forcing the kit and breaking the clips y'all are straight idiots it's simple like I said if you don't know anything about installation don't mess with it have somebody else do it but don't put down this kit just because you don't know anything about it.

Overall this dash kit was very easy to install. I only needed the metal brackets off of the stock stereo, not the black plastic ones that came with the dash kit. I wondered forever what those things were for and why I couldn't mount the stereo with them! Perhaps it is because my new stereo had a metal sleeve and there was no need. Also, the plastic on the switches for AC and heat control on the back of your stock stereo may be brittle. Be very careful not to break pieces off when you are removing these switches to transfer them to your dash kit. You will need the switches as well as the knobs off the stock stereo. The only setback I had was the switch for the air flow direction control. Pieces broke off and I ended up without heat after the install until my new switch came in the mail. These switches are not easy to find!! Just be careful.

2007 Ford Taurus SEFit perfectly in my dash.Install would be rated at easy for those with proper tools and some prior experience and moderate for a complete newbie. If you've never done this before or have no clue what a 10k Ohm resistor is, get a buddy with some knowledge help you out.GET THE FORD RADIO REMOVAL "KEYS"For about $4 you can get the simplest of tools that eliminates frustration, anger, and hate. If you don't have any, a wire coat hanger, metal tent stakes, or a chunk of solid wire (like the kind in your walls) will do. After the actual tool for the job, metal tent stakes work best. You'll need 4 of them.Included instructions are more than adequate for someone with know-how. A bit lacking for a novice. You can tell this thing was designed by car enthusiasts for car enthusiasts and the instructions are written assuming you know certain things.Wire harness that runs to trunk has each wire labeled on the actual insulation and not with substandard stick on labels. Extra wires on harness in case you have a power antenna. These are a huge plus. Antenna cable is of quality wire and connectors.Again, great fit in my dash. There was a small gap at the top without the radio installed. Once the DIN plate and radio were in, the gap was gone.10/10 - Would install again.
