The Tuya Smart App notification function alone is so-so. It may be possible to miss it. More guaranteed notifications like SMS or getting a phone call can require a paid Tuya subscription. However it also allows you to interface with external programs like Home Assistant though third party integrations, greatly expanding the range of responses you can generate through automation. If you're technically inclined you can build an inexpensive system to help keep someone safe. A bit of web searching and YouTube will help you find what you need. Once I integrated it as an entity in Home Assistant I can actively keep track of the battery as well.

I bought this product to help my elderly grandmother be able to get ahold of me when she needed help. I was hesitant at first because of the mixed reviews but she used it for 3 months and it worked great! She was able to get a hold of me even when I was not in the home. This is a great product. The only downfall in my eyes is it needs WiFi to work. As long as the button is in the range and hooked up to WiFi the button can reach you and ring your phone even if you are in another town. It was easy to hook up and we were able to hook it to multiple cell devices to be notified. The notification tone is pretty loud and I had no problem hearing it in the middle of the night. I would recommend to others.

My mom lives on her own and I wanted a product that could alert me if there was a problem and she couldn’t get to a phone. You need wireless internet and a device to download the app to. My mom has wifi but her older version iPhone couldn’t connect to the app. I solved it by using an old RCA tablet to download the app from her house. I have the app on my phone. If the sos button is pushed, I receive an alert on my phone. We like it a lot because it gives me piece of mind, there is no monthly fee and authorities aren’t called if the sos button is pressed. Button is a bit sensitive and my mom presses it by accident a couple of times, I solved it by turning it around in the holding case. It won’t work for all situations but for us it’s great! I live close by and can easily check up on her if anything happens. She can easily carry it around the house and even outside. Can be worn around her neck and easily secured to a walker as well. If I get an alert, I call her, if she doesn’t answer the phone, I suspect a problem and go check on her. Great value and works really well for our circumstances.

We purchased this for my elderly father. He insisted on living alone and we could have opted for a monthly fee option, but decided to try this first. Amazing! He would wear it around his neck and if he needed us for ANYTHING he pressed it and we all received text and emails within seconds. No fees just the low cost of this device. You then download an app to the iPhone and configure it. Wherever it’s going to be used WiFi is required since it used via the internet connection. When the button is pressed it goes to the service which immediately follows whatever the options are that you have set. In our case we set it up to send us all text messages, emails AND with some finagling was able to get our Alexa to broadcast that he had pressed it for help. My dad LOVED this thing just as he loved his Alexa. These tools allowed him to live alone until his passing at 91 years of age. He insisted on independence and he cleaned house, cooked his meals and did his laundry right up to the end. Technology like these things can be instrumental in living independently in many situations. This device was one of them! We have now repurposed this thing for another similar situation and it’s awesome.

It was easy to set up, and works well. The battery lasts a long time between charges.I bought this device for my Parkinson's afflicted wife, back last september. Until very recently, if she pressed the button, I would get a notification on my iPhone as well as my Apple watch... which was a perfect arrangement for me.However, about a month ago, it stopped sending notifications, even though opening the app clearly indicated that the alert was received in the phone. Just yesterday, while trying to debug the problem, I discovered that Tuya now demands a 'subscription' for the notifications to work. Admittedly, it's cheap... $5.99 for up to 100 notifications over a full year... but it left a bad taste in my mouth. Were it not for this 'sneak attack', I would have given a 5 star rating.EDITED TO ADD: Unfortunately, the button got accidentally put into the laundry, and after retrieving it from the dryer, it no longer worked. I'm ordering another, despite my antipathy towards the requirement for a subscription ($5.99 for 100 uses over one year). Frankly, I can't find another device which works with a cell phone and Apple watch, without the requirement for some sort of receiver. If I ever do, I'll trash this device and buy it. (Note: the Amazon listing for this device says NOTHING about the requirement for a subscription)

I am in my mid 20’s and I very tech savvy — I thought this would be a good ‘new school’ solution to allow my elderly grandmother to get my attention so I could be elsewhere in the house and be working, rather than glued to her side.I came to trust this button entirely, so much so that I no longer had to sleep in a chair next to her bed or stay up all night and sleep all day — instead I slept in the room next to her with this button set up to alert my phone on max volume when she needed me.Until very early this morning, when she had to wait for over an hour to get my attention by banging various items on the wall in an attempt to wake me. Luckily it WASN’T a life threatening emergency…but what if it had been? This is utterly unacceptable in an emergency alert device. 90%, 95%, even 99% reliability is not good enough, and while the button has worked incredibly up to this point, I cannot give it any more than 1 star because my faith in it has been shaken. As you can see in my screenshot this button didn’t just fail to alert me once — it failed FIVE TIMES to alert me.SINGCALL/Tuya: you need to fix this nonsense because it endangers the lives of the people to whom you are assuring safety. People rely on these devices for emergencies and stability/dependability is one of if not the most important features in an emergency alert system.
