The price is fantastic. However, they are thinner than expected. They are not good potholders for handling hot items from the oven. But they are excellent for stabilizing cutting boards on the counter, opening stubborn jar lids, insulating a hot dish from the table or counter surface, etc. The size works well for the above. One even got put to use under an alarm clock that the cat hates and periodically swats off the nightstand. He has not succeeded since I put one of the trivets under the clock.

They protect the bumps of pans being put on top is them! Exactly what I bought them for! Keep them from getting scratches!
