Item broke after a couple uses. The plastic mechanism inside the handle is held in place on the main shaft by a set screw. The plastic that the set screw is in just split in half due to the shock associated with opening after a few times. Amazon won’t replace because I got around to reporting this just after the 30 days and the seller just kicks me back to amazon’s automated system. Frankly, this is a defective product and should be replaced by the seller rather than Amazon but I can't find any way to contact the seller.Updating review and rating: the company contacted me and replaced the broken item with no fuss.

I've used this umbrella twice now. The first time it was lightly sprinkling and I pulled it out of my bag at the bus stop and it kept me dry till the bus came. It was more difficult to close than I expected, and took both hands to secure it/click it into place. It didn't close tightly enough to fit back into it's sleeve. Today it's raining more heavily and there is wind. The umbrella is much flimsier when there's wind. I had to hold it at the joint where it extended and still feared it was going to snap in half. When I got to the store it was again very difficult to click shut, and the strip with the velcro closure is coming off the umbrella. It doesn't look ripped, just not sewn/fastened well to begin with. I'll have to sew that on better or there won't be a way to hold the umbrella shut. Have only used one of the pair that came, but am not impressed. The colors are nice, burgundy and black. The black on is what I've used so far.Cheap umbrellas are cheap, no surprise there. Photos are of the closed umbrella next to the sleeve it's supposed to fit into and the closure tab coming off the umbrella.

I loved having a polka-dot umbrella, but sadly the ribs collapsed in two places after only a few uses. It takes a lot of strength to close up the umbrella for storage. I wouldn't buy this umbrella again.Update on 10/16/2024: I want to thank the sellers who sent a replacement umbrella. It works beautifully and I've used it a few times, with very good results. Thank you, Siepasa, for caring about the customer. That makes all the difference. I have changed the rating to five gold stars, and will purchase from this seller again.
