To provide additional protection Siemens offers circuit breakers to protect against severe electrical shock or electrocution, mitigate the risk of electrical fires and protect against damaging surges and Voltage spikes. Circuit breakers are intended for switching and protection of your home's wiring from high temperatures caused by excess current higher than the rating of the wire. While thermal-magnetic circuit breakers are the key element for overload and short-circuit protection of your electrical system, there are potentially dangerous conditions that do not involve over current. To ensure the warranty on a Siemens panel is not voided, the use of Siemens breakers is required. Siemens strongly recommends against the use of "used" breakers. The installation of used breakers in a Siemens panel will void the warranty on the panel. Siemens does not sell used breakers and has not approved any 3rd party sellers to do so.

Normally Siemens products are great. However in this case, the breaker failed after about 7 months. Started arcing inside. The load on the breaker was minimal.The breaker was feeding a (Siemens) sub-panel in a small shop. The load on the sub-panel is just room lights and a couple of wall outlets. The load I measured today was 1 amp-3 amp-4 amp so there is basically no load on the sub-panel breaker. (It is a three phase panel in case you were wondering.)I came in to the office area where the main panel was and I heard a buzzing sound. Not good. I found the breaker going to the shop area was the noise maker.I will change the breaker tomorrow but I need to kill power to the entire building first. Not comfortable changing a large breaker in the main panel with the power on.I love Siemens products but I hope this is not something to happen often at $100 per breaker.

My husband was looking for one of these breakers everywhere . Many people wanted twice the price in addition to shipping charges. This was a great buy, and the breaker works great!
