The first freeze of the year is coming tonight, so I was glad to have this insulating cover from DEMEDO on-hand to protect the vacuum breaker on my sprinkler system. The multi-layer construction includes a foil lined interior, a layer of insulating fiber and a waterproof outer canvas. The canvas material is solidly stitched together down one side, while strong hook-and-loop closure strips are placed on the opposite side and along the bottom to allow for a custom fit. With this installed, I won’t have to worry about damage to the vacuum breaker.

These covers are made of Oxford fabric cloth on the outside and insulated.The grommets are well placed and provide extra options to really tighten the covers after Velcroing in place.The covers are very well stitched and very good. Overall, I would recommend this product..

Arrived on time and before the freeze. Very easy just slip over and velcro sides and bottom. Less than a minute. Super easy.

This insulated cover for backflow preventer is VERY NICE and will work exactly as intended in the next hard freeze. This replaces my old moving blanket I used to cover my backflow preventer. Opening the package I was impressed by the sturdiness. This has velcro opening available on two side for flexibility in your application. The velcro is nice and strong. Fabric is 600 denier fabric and the insulation inside is radiant barrier reflective facing inside sandwiching some other fluff insulation. My backflow preventer is the Febco type which is very common in our region, and I have more than adequate height and width of piping. I order the cover that is 30''W x 24''H and it fits just great since it is better to have a loose fit for insulation than tight snug. The seller generously understates since the actual measurement are a little more than 30"W x 24"H outside when completely flat. On the inside it is less than than so make sure to order size that is plenty loose.Regarding freeze protection I have learned every lesson the hard way over time. Some folks say to close both ball valves and drain the body of the backflow prevent. NO WAY AM I EVER DOING THAT AGAIN. I was smart enough to know the risk of the closed full port ball valve (traps a complete plug of water). When this freezes it will absolutely 100% assured splits your ball valve body requiring replacement of the entire assembly ($$$). That lesson drove me to never again close the ball valves and to risk the least expensive and easily replaceable plastic interior. I used to use that old moving blanket before this cover.I hope this information is "Helpful" for you. Cheers !!

Reviewing: Side Opening Backflow Preventer Cover, Pipe Insulation Cover for Irrigation Valve, Sprinkler Valve, Outdoor Water Pipe, Winter Freeze Protection & UV Resistance Backflow Covers, 30"W x 24"H, BeigeThis is a nice thick cover with canvas on the outside, foil backing inside. The cover includes grommets on 2 sides for securing the cover. Note this cover is big; 24"x30", and seems very durable and well made. I have an unusual backflow setup and the cover won't work for me the way I had hoped. That said, it is a very nice cover and I have no doubt it would work well.

This is a very good quality pipe insulation cover that my husband used for our pipes outside our home. Very good quality material, durable, and easy to cover and love the back flow opening. Good price value and would definitely recommend. We also would purchase again.
