This thing is smooth turning and appears to be turning true with no wobbles. There was a problem with the screwing the nuts on, as the threads were boogered out of the box. I had to clean up the threads on the shaft with a file, but it works now. I do think the rubber is too short because by the time you get it squeezed enough to hold the sandpaper, the sand paper is almost 3/8 of inch longer than the rubber. But all in all it is not a bad purchase.

Works great. just be aware that the nut will sometime tighten up way to much as you use it, wish it would come with two so I could use it as a lock nut.

This is a good sanding tool for the most part. It has as much power as the drill that you use with it. It has good bearings and a handle that's easy to hold. It's easy to assemble and you get the small tools you need to use the sander.I had a problem getting the sanding cylinder onto the larger rubber core because the fit is very tight even before tightening the nut on the rod. I can get it on, but I will probably have to tear the sanding tube to get if off. I would like to be able to change grits by switching sanding tubes. I don't think I will be able to do that. I'm glad it comes with 120 grit. If I am limited to one grit, 120 is a good compromise.I'm also not sure whether replacement sanding tubes will fit this tool well or not.

This works well. Similar to the smaller sanding drums, but longer. It's really handy for bigger jobs, and it very portable since it can go wherever your drill can go. Works great. I just hope I can find more long drums when I need replacements.

I have a somewhat portable drum sander, but it is a bit heavy, so it remains on my workbench. So, this gadget gives you the ability to be mobile with a drum sander. All you need is a drill. I used an old corded drill because I did not want to run the batteries down on my cordless, but you can use it with a cordless drill also. Putting it together is fairly straight forward, but some of the parts they are calling gaskets are just washers. I replaced one of the jam nuts with a Nylock nut so that it would not loosen after prolonged use. The handle part seems to move freely with ball bearings and did not feel uncomfortable. I added a piece of shrink tube, like they use on fishing rods to give it a better grip as I live in Texas and my hands tend to get sweaty when working in the garage. An old foam style bike hand grip may work better, but I did not have one to try.I was making some hand grip handles on a TV tray and wanted to sand the inside of the handles to make custom grips that conform to your fingers (just to be different). The kit comes with only 120# grit sanding drums, so this was a slow process. Also holding the tray down so that I had full access to the handles was a bit tricky. You need both hands to use this tool. I wish the kit came with a few different grits for each drum size and I wish they offered more sanding tubes when these are fully used. I am sure you can find them on Amazon as they seem to be a specific size. They are different than my semi portable spindle sander.Bottom line I think this is a well thought out and handy gadget that serves a purpose but it will not replace a benchtop spindle sander for most jobs. But when you need to be mobile this is the perfect tool. I think with a few tweaks (as mentioned above) this is a really cool tool, and I can definitely recommend it for the DIYer and wood shop craft maker....

The basic idea is that you have a handle on bearings so you can hold the sanding drum from both sides, and I gotta admit it works really well! You gotta slide the sandpaper rolls over the rubber before tightening down, as that's how it grips - as you tighten, it pushes down on the rubber which expands and therefore tightens its grip. I didn't experience slippage but if you do, just try tightening some more. Also, you're really only limited by the torque of your drill, so you can actually push down quite heavily and use this to remove material, more than just smoothing. It's easy to set up, easy to use, versatile... I'd say it's a nice tool to have in the shop. Sometimes it's easier to bring the tool to the job than it is the job to the tool; this fits that niche.

Didn’t dislike anything. Works well for my project of making toy cars and trucks. Good value for those that don’t want the expense of a bench sander.

Sanding inside edges is always a problem to me so when I saw this tool, I decided to give it a try. You get a thin and a thick rubber cylinder with 10 abrasive tubes; 5 that fit each one. You tighten a (reverse) screw threaded nut with a wrench (supplied) to compress the rubber which then expands to grip the abrasive tube. The red metal handle is on spinning bearings so you hold the handle with one hand and the drill with the other (my hand isn't on the red handle in the picture as it's holding my camera). This simple, sturdy, tool adds great controllability to inside sanding jobs and having 2 radii sizes to choose from is also good. I do wish that some of the abrasive tubes were of a finer abrasive but I expect I can find them online.Recommended.
