By serious I mean you understand and accept the following:1. To get truly premium, high-quality sound you must have a wired connection.Bluetooth is not going to the have bandwidth, power and reliability to get the job done. This is not a Bluetooth solution - if wireless Bluetooth is your priority please look elsewhere.2. You want every person around the conference table to hear and be heard. That requires multiple microphones (9 in the case of this device) and a robust system to manage the device. That's expensive and you need to be prepared to pay for it.The device performs very well. It is primarily designed for a permanent conference room install - hence the PoE+ design choice. If you can go to the minimal trouble of dealing with PoE+ ( buying a $30 power injector) then this is a great choice for any situation.

For the price, I was expecting amazing performance. Based on how this works, I would have been happy with the performance if the price was $200. I got this to record meetings in a small room. It works, but the audio quality is great. You can make out what everyone is saying. -- You have to buy a POE injector to power this. -- This value of this will probably increase if you have multiple items for a "STEM Ecosystem," which you can read about on their website, but I still think this is overpriced.

I bought the wall soundbar to better mic a classroom for Zoom classes. I’ve moved it to several places around the room. So far I get much better results from my Blu Yeti mic that I bought for $100. I’ll give a call to support tomorrow and see if they can help me further but otherwise I plan to return this and pursue other options. Very unimpressed.

This is a very nice speakerphone system. For those of you already in the Shure Stem ecosystem, you probably know what to expect in terms of its ease of use and quality. If you are picking this up for a single conference room where you want to connect it with a single computer, please note: - This product comes with two cables (ethernet and USB). In order to connect it to a PC or Mac, you will need both cables. The USB-B to USB-A cable will plug into your PC and the ethernet cable will need to be plugged into a POE Adapter (I chose a Gigabit POE+ Injector, 30W POE Power Adapter, IEEE802.3af & 802.3at). The POE adapter will be plugged into an outlet to supply power to the Shure Stem Table. (Plugging the ethernet cable into the PC will not provide power and using the USB-A alone will not power the device.) - Once power is provided to the device, it is completely plug-and-play. The computer recognized it as both a speaker and microphone device, so you can select it as both/either in the sound settings. - Zoom immediately recognized the device and it worked seamlessly. - You can use this device for podcasts or other recording sessions, just like any other microphone. The voice recording is clear and it sounds the same as if you were on a conference call. But keep in mind that it was not intended to record singing, as when sound trails off, the recording will truncate the sound. - The speaker also works well for playing back music. It is not HomePod quality, but it is definitely better than most (if not, all) built-in speakers. Just keep in mind that there is a slight issue with buffering music from an internet source. So using it as a speaker for a YouTube video is a no-go, as the sound is choppy and very distracting. As a speakerphone, the sound from the speakers is incredibly clear and can be loud enough to cover a large meeting room. The microphones do a great job of capturing a natural sounding voice, and the transmitted sound is also very clear to the listener on the other end. It was able to pick up a speaking voice from a pretty good distance so having this in the middle of a long meeting table should not be an issue. It does a good job of cancelling out background noises and sound (including soft music playing in the background).I love how it looks. It has a clean, contemporary design that complements its quality. While it is has a decent heft, I’d like to think of it as quality you can feel. The bottom has a nice padded surface so it should not scratch up the meeting table. I like how the blue LED light ring indicates the direction from the speaker and how the clean look includes the three most important buttons on the top (mute and volume up/down). The soft-looking mesh speaker cover rounds off its classy, soft-spoken design. Just to note, it is all one piece, so the mesh or the middle portion does not come off.I really like this Shure Stem Table speakerphone. The build quality and sound quality are superb, and it is very easy to use. It excels at its primary role as a speakerphone, but it also has the potential for several other use cases when it isn’t the center of a meeting. For example, if you have a MacMini, this device would make a great speaker/microphone pairing.

Once you get this phone to work, it works great. The sound is excellent and the microphone array picks up from anywhere in the room. People on the Zoom call said it sounded great no matter where we were standing, and without having to yell or speak loudly. This is definitely a high end, high quality device - with a price point to match. There is one thing that you need to know that took us a bit to figure out. This unit derives power from the ethernet line. There is no power adapter. So, if you do not have hard-wired ethernet in your building (we did not) you will have to purchase an adapter just to supply the power. Fortunately, these adapters are very inexpensive (mine was less than $10). Once you have power to the unit, you can attach a USB between your computer and the speaker and you are all set. I wish the instructions were more clear on this, but everything assumes you have in-wall ethernet.

We had been using the Jabra Panacast 50 wall-mounted camera/microphone/speaker unit but had problems hearing people at the far end of the table or people who talked across the table toward each other during meetings rather than speaking toward the sound bar. We installed three Stem Table units for audio and use the Jabra for the camera and the combination works great. Now we can hear even the quiet talkers not facing the screen.

This is a great product for a boardroom table but not recommended for home office use. It’s pretty big.I tried using this unit with my Logitech RoomMate for conference calling but Teams on Android would not recognize it as an audio I/O device.First firmware update was a bit problematic but Shure support was great and we determined the switch I was connecting to was not POE+ which caused the issue with the firmware update.Packaging was very eco friendly and other than the firmware hiccup setup was a breeze.
