It stayed adhered for 6 months and left a sticky residue when it fell. Normal use, no extra weight, and no additional water from another shower head hitting it.

This shower head holder is exceptional. It is solid metal, directions are complete and easy to understand, everything you need to install the holder is in the box including pipe tape, rubber washer and wrench plus cloth to cover the pipe while attaching it to the water pipe. It is packaged with a cover over the holder so it isn't scratched in transit. Everything is packed in a neat, compact box. The price is fantastic for a superb product. I have tried many products to fix my shower head which did not tilt down far enough for a short person or children. This one solved the problem and is modern, stylish.

I installed this hand held shower as a rain shower. I wanted a clean look without unnecessary pipes or adjustable rods (making it look like a kid playing with an erector set) to make this work. This shower head holder with an adjustable ball joint made this possible. This is the second one as the first was not strong enough to keep the shower head in position. It was not a bad piece, the ball joint wasn’t adjustable like this one. I used a 112 degree elbow to get the proper angle and even with a plastic shower head the first holder wouldn’t hold the position. Back to this shower holder, The piece that holds the shower head is a little small, but the fit is perfect and works just fine. The instructions said to use Teflon tape which was included, but I didn’t want any of it sticking out covering the nice chrome of the ceiling shower arm (straight) so I didn’t use any and no leaks. Another obvious advantage to this type of holder is that the 85 degrees of swivel is past the water entry point, eliminating future water leaks like the others may suffer from over time. The holder that came with my very popular shower head is all plastic with a very small amount of movement up and down. After reading the negative shower head reviews, which the overwhelming majority were a failure in the plastic holder. I knew I was going to spend some loot on a better one and this was it. Well worth the money! Installation was very easy with the wrench included to attach to the shower arm. No tools necessary for the hose connection. 5 minutes or less.

The description (it could have been a photo, not text) of this includes misinformation that the tension is adjustable by turning the knurled section that holds the ball. It does not. A lot of people complain that they either can't get it to stay up, or can't adjust it at all, so I was worried about that. Mine arrived incredibly stiff. I put WD-40 on the base of the ball, worked it around for a few minutes, and it's sufficiently adjustable. It's metal and should last longer than the plastic bracket it's replacing. I've had a good experience with this product, but I don't like descriptions misleading people.
