Simple (cheap and cheerful) unit that works well for wet and dry applications. This is not a top-of-the-line unit, but it worth the money and my previous on lasted 10-years (still working but now lives at daughter's house).

This is the second vacuum like this that I have bought in the past 5 years. Very powerful and convenient.

I own a few other Shop Vac machines (mainly to clean up in my workshop), so I was intrigued by this smaller/more portable unit. It did not disappoint. It's easy to carry but still has good suction. I wish the attached cord was longer, since I had to use extensions to cover much area.

Although a bit noisy when used indoors, the suction action is excellent.

Overall, this shop-vac did what I needed it to do: it sucked up a lot of sudsy water from my rough slate tile flooring. So yes, it handles wet messes well. But I had to make two modifications.First, I needed to purchase an extendable wand attachment (the kind that comes in three pieces so you can make it as short or long as you want) because it's insane to think of squatting down to suck up water with a five inch vacuum head. Maybe a small spill, fine, but not an entire floor! But second, the vacuum head attachment would not suck ANY water up from my rough (natural) slate tiles. It could not establish a good seal. My floor is quite bumpy and uneven and the vacuum head has dull "teeth" which I think are intended for carpet (?). I quickly realized that a squeegee head attachment (you can buy them) would not work well either because my floor is still too bumpy. Further, my rough floor was already eating up the plastic end of the hose when I dragged it across the rough tile. So my next thought was a brush attachment, which someone in a review said would work on wet messes. Yes, perhaps, though I think they're intended for dry messes. I might buy one in the future. But what I ended up doing was creating a thick, flexible nozzle out of (you guess it!) duck tape on the end of the vacuum head attachment. This allowed me to press down on the uneven floor to get a good enough seal for it to work. I also liked that the tape got scuffed up, not the attachment head, so I can just replace the tape as needed.Long story, but basically I'm satisfied after making these adjustments. It's small, lightweight, and effective. I hate how stiff the main hose is, but the small shop-vac is cheap so what do you expect. You will almost certain need an extension cord too unless the plug is in the right spot and you're working on a small area.

Love the smaller lightweight size for this powerful vac that can also be used as a blower. Exactly what I was looking for!

I bought one of these because my fiancee and I found a ShopVac in an old shed of a house she just bought. (We grew up calling all shop vacuums Shop Vacs. I had no idea it was a brand name). The one we found in the shed ran very well. So, I bought a new one. And -- it's fine. I can't give it four or five stars knowing what I expected. As other reviews have mentioned, the short cord is not ideal. I really thought it wouldn't bother me. But it does. The lack of quality is noticeable compared to the older model. The bin on the new one is so thin it caves in when it's sucking. I had to use gaffers tape to keep the hose from constantly falling out. It's very cheap -- but a solid three stars for still being effective. It's just nothing compared to the one we found from -- however many years ago.
