This is my first pair of bone conduction headphones. Many of the reviews I read said that they sound like you're listening in a tin can or the same as your phone playing music just place next to you. No. They sound great. Maybe not quite as great as in the ear or over the ear noise reduction headphones. But really good. The reason I say not bone conduction, is that I can gently pull them away from my head and the sound sounds very similar.I think they're best described as rear facing speakers that point towards your ear canal.Regardless. It works!I don't know I have them on. Very comfortable. I can hear everything around me.People look at them but still respond to me as if I'm not talking to them with headphones in my ears. Because they're not. I can hear them just fine.Battery life is great! All day listening on a single charge. And I use them for phone calls often and people can hear me quite clearly.I wear them all day and I am a housewash contractor. So they are wet and covered with bleach water. And they don't seem to be affected at all.I didn't try any of the cheapies before this. This is my first pair of bone conduction. Or what they say is bone conduction. I'm very satisfied.I've been through many many pairs of headphones over the years and decades. Cheap, expensive, in the ear, over the ear. On balance of all things considered these are my favorite.Worth what I paid for them.

I recently got the Shokz OpenRun Pro 2, and I’m seriously impressed! These bone-conduction headphones are a game-changer for workouts and outdoor activities. What I Love:✔️ Open-Ear Comfort: Unlike traditional earbuds, they sit outside the ear, so no ear fatigue or discomfort during long runs.✔️ Great Sound Quality: The bass is noticeably improved from previous models, and calls are crystal clear.✔️ Awareness & Safety: Perfect for running or cycling—being able to hear traffic and surroundings while still enjoying music is a huge plus.✔️ Sweat & Water Resistant: No issues during intense workouts or light rain.✔️ Long Battery Life: Up to 10 hours per charge is great for long training sessions. What Could Be Better:🔹 Not Ideal for Loud Environments – Since they don’t seal in your ears, outside noise can sometimes overpower the audio.🔹 Pricey – A bit on the expensive side, but worth it for the quality and comfort.

Let me start by saying these headphones are not your typical "block out the world and get lost in the music" type of headphones—and that’s the point. If you’re buying these expecting the deep, isolated sound experience of over-ear or in-ear headphones, you’re going to be disappointed. But if you’re looking for a pair of headphones that let you hear the world around you (you know, like cars, kids, or your gym buddy yelling "One more rep!"), these are perfect.First off, let’s address the elephant in the room: sound leakage. Yes, there’s sound leakage. If you crank these up in a quiet space, people nearby will hear the tinny whispers of your guilty pleasure playlist (yes, I’m looking at you, ‘90s boy band lovers). But that’s the trade-off for bone conduction tech. The sound quality is actually pretty decent for what these are—don’t expect audiophile-level bass, but it’s clear, crisp, and gets the job done. Now, about the fit. I initially ordered the standard size, thinking “Bigger is always better, right?” Nope. It was fine but felt like I was wearing a hula hoop around my neck. After sending it back and swapping it for the Mini, I’m never going back. Despite having a larger head (thanks, genetics), the Mini fits me way better—snug and secure without that awkward "flopping around on a jog" feeling. Honestly, I often forget I’m wearing them. I’ve walked into the shower more than once before realizing they were still hanging around my neck.As for comfort, these things are a dream. They’re so lightweight and secure that I’ve done everything from HIIT workouts to yoga stretches with them, and they didn’t budge. They also don’t leave your ears sore after a long session, which is a win in my book. And since they’re sweat-resistant, I don’t worry about them quitting on me mid-workout. (Take that, treadmill sprints.)One last note: these are fantastic for outdoor workouts. Whether I’m running on trails or biking through traffic, I feel way safer being able to hear what’s going on around me while still enjoying my music or podcasts. That’s where these really shine. In summary, these headphones are a niche product—and an amazing one if you understand what they’re meant for. If you want bone-rattling bass and noise cancellation, go elsewhere. But if you want lightweight, comfortable, and smartly designed headphones that let you stay connected to your surroundings while still enjoying good sound quality, these are it. Oh, and do yourself a favor: if you’re between sizes, try the Mini. Your neck will thank you.

Shokz Open Run Pro2. 179.00 USDArrived 3pm100% charge out the boxWent to charge and thought it’d be a special magnet charger. Not looking forward to having to buy specific replacements and the charger is type C!Easy connection with a simple connection sound. Not the “pairing” and “connected” ai voice. Open the setting app to Bluetooth , select device, start listening.Good volume and bass for the tech availableHowever the microphone is horrible as far as discord calls and phone calls have gone. These, I have been told, have NO NOISE SUPPRESSION. (You can hear all background sound, wind, airplanes, cars, buses, tires on the road, etc. Very sensitive audio)Audio input sounds like a 2G Motorola phone from 1992. Take that as you will.Easy volume and media 1-2-3 click controls. Left earpiece has a button. One click: play/pause two click: next song three click: previous song long hold: virtual assistant via phone Ex: SiriComfortable but bulky with glasses. Quick to ear fatigue. I frequently forget I’m wearing them if they aren’t in useGreat battery life. I got them at 3. Checked battery at 11 and I was on 70%Open ear safe for factory security( my employer is extremely hard on safety. These unobstructed ears are safe at work!)On safety, they came with reflective tape!Quick charge. Full charge in approximately 30 minutes. Easy to charge on the commute to work. They came with a neck strap. They feel secure enough I don’t feel the need to wear it. I am impartial to it. I’d feel confident wearing these under extreme conditions and they would not budge. Sky diving, bungee jumping, white water rafting(check the swim pros for 32gb of mp3 storage for underwater listening and a WATERPROOF design)One size fits most. There is a size chart on Shokz website and it is true to size. I feel I may have benefited from the minis however I feel it is a minor design flaw not having these be adjustable. I can fit a full hand between my head and the headband. I feel the earpiece itself could afford to be slightly more flexible. It is very stiff contributing to that ear fatigue.Private listening. My partner had to get within 3 inches of my ear to hear anything at 100%So private you can share a pillow. Late night listening at 30% volume on my iPhone 14, was perfect volume to share a pillow with my partner and he couldn’t hear anything. After 50% it was loud enough he could faintly hear it in a quiet room. On separate pillows, 100% volume is detectable in a quiet room by my partner. We turned on a fan and it made it undetectable. However, turning on the fan, did make my listening experience less pleasant due to the open ear. Counter to that however, laying down on my ear did double the volume without decreasing any of the comfort! Not great for back sleepers. The back strap protrudes about half an inch from my head. Laying on my back forces the earpieces to shift from where they need to sit. Side sleeping is 10/10. I can sleep uninterrupted 6 hours. No issues.Makes my alarm private! I sleep in these with them on and idle through the night. Allowing my alarm to only wake me. Not disturbing my partner in the slightest.I have a hypersensitivity to Nickel and other metals in headphones plus a hypersensitivity to latex in rubbers. These have caused NO ADVERSE ALLERGIC REACTIONS.Discreet for most. I keep my head shaved and beard short so they are easy to see on me. My partner has shoulder length hair and an inch long full beard. You can’t see them unless you are hunting for them. Under a toboggan? No way. Hair frames your face? Easy.Unfortunately limited in color selection. This product is a great value for the quality. For a fair review across the board I’m giving this 9.2/10.
