Best jock so far. My old Shock Doctor would have to be adjusted constantly. This one I haven’t had to adjust once. I ref about 6 games a week and quite honestly, I forget I’m wearing a cup.I’m a 36 inch waist and the XL is perfect.

Got these for my husband. He loves them. Says the most comfortable jock he's worn, and the velcro works great to hold the socks in place.

I imagine these would be great if you are somewhere between slim/athletic and tall/skinny. If you are shorter and more built, or mildly overweight, take a pass. At 5'10" with a 37" waist the XL fits fine on the waist. The shorts are too long though and the cup retention system doesn't sit right for me. The cup wants to sit too high and flatten out the goods. Properly positioned it does fit snug (and I'm not hung like a porn star), but the problem is that the aircore cup moves a little with each step/stride. The entire design of the feather-light aircore cup is for a lesser profile, perhaps it has a practical reason but my guess is that it's so guys can avoid the embarassment of others seing its outline. It is rigid however and my thighs force it up. The result of the combination presses everything flat and some skin escapes the confines at the bottom. I wouldn't go over the boards wearing it for fear of doing damage. While not perfect (there's still movement at the bottom) replacing the new 'low profile' Hard Aircore Cup that is sort of cramped with my Shock Doctor Ultra Carbon Flex Cup seems to be the fix. Everything fits into the slightly narrower cup just fine and I am not shy about the more obvious bulge. Its a cup for hockey! It's meant to do a job! Yeah, guys wear cups and everyone knows you have one on unless you're an idiot, get over it and play hockey! I don't worry about bagging myself going over the boards with the Carbon Cup, it doesn't get in the way of my stride like the Aircore Cup, and I don't worry that anything is slipping out and in danger of getting pinched. A more pronounced bulge that keeps everything out infront and fully protected rather than squished between my legs is more than a fair tradeoff. That said I wish the X-Fit system was still offered as well. Not every body type is the same but each jock seems to be. Someday a company that preaches its all about performance will come up with the idea that short/stocky people play sports as well as tall/slim and offer both options...take an inch of length out at the top, raize the velcro tabs an inch, cut a couple inches off the bottom, and adjust the internal system so that the straps are a little longer around the glutes. Or give us back the 273 jock strap with garters!

The Large size fits my 6 foot, 195 lb. frame nicely. A bit snug, but this is a compression garment so that is to be expected. I won't be using these for hockey so don't really need the velcro tabs for hockey socks. Shock Doctor does make other kinds of workout garments though. What they will be used for is light sparring, working out and soccer & jogging (sans the cup). I find the fit of the cup good and fairly protective, though it can pinch if you're doing ground work and twisting about. But again these are intended for hockey and I am repurposing them. I do really like how Power Stride fits snugly while remaining breathable. These help keep me cool during intense exercise. I haven't had them long, but they feel built to last as well. They are easy to clean and dry quickly, just make sure the velcro is secure or it may snag other clothes in the washing machine. They also look modern and purposeful, which my wife has indicated that she likes. :)~ Kort
